How much does it cost to hire movers?
I know it varies depending on how much stuff you have. I'm moving from an apt to a house and really don't have much furniture other than living room, bedroom and babies room. I'm just curious how much I'd be looking at.....just to have an idea.

That was for a two bedroom, living room from Hauppauge to Ronkonkoma.

We used Men on the Move from our move from Whitestone to here & they were reasonable & fast...just contacted them recently & it seems their prices had gone up a bit...they quoted me at 761 & I have what the op has.

We used Men on the Move...a move from Suffolk to Queens with packing and boxes was about $1250 or so. It would have been cheaper if we packed ourselves. Oh well.

I got a quote for $115 an hour + Mileage.
In the end, we decided to just rent a truck and do it ourselves.

We used Leonetti Brothers, based in Oceanside. They charged $475 to move from our one bedroom (walk-up) in Long Beach to our house in East Rockaway. That does not include a tip --DH was way too generous IMO, but I know he did that b/c I was nervous and he couldn't be there the whole time b/c of work and wanted to make sure they did whatever I wanted.

We used Starving Students 9a national chain I believe). We moved from the DC area to Baltimore, about 35 miles...
It cost about $750, moved from a 2BR apt with an elevator to a taalll townhouse with stairs.
