Well I think you have to figure out what it is worth to you. I would say around 50-75 per day maybe???? Maybe a little cheaper than what you would have to pay at a daycare center. Also, if it is a good friend than I guess you would have to take that into consideration too.

Re: How much do you pay for in home daycare?

There is a woman in my neighborhood who watches children full time and she charges $30 a day. I am in Ohio, so that may be why it is so inexpensive. I am going to start using her to watch Molly on occassion for about 4 hours when I need to go to an appointment or something and she will only charge $15. Chat Icon

So as others have said, I think it depends on the relationship and the length of time they will be watching your child.

We paid $10/hour with a $250/week minimum. My kids were there about 15-18 hours/week, so it cost me $250 each week.

Re: How much do you pay for in home daycare?

When I was looking for childcare I found that home daycares charged more than the centers in my area which was a little wacky IMO. They ranged from 50-75 a day.

I have used a sitter that charged $5-$6 an hour depending on how many days you were going to go. Currently I am using a sitter who charges $50 a day and is flexible with early/late pickups.
