I have a california ranch, 3 br 2 bath, maybe 1200sq ft. We also have a finished basement the same size as the house. I use the word finished lightly. The previous owners finished it, but not to our finished liking. We will be redoing it.

We have either 2400 or 2500 - can't remember which. We have four bedrooms and three baths. Not sure what style you'd call it - we had a front to back split that was about 1450 sq ft and expanded it.

Ours is 1600. 2 baths and it will have 3 bedrooms. I already feel cramped though. Ideally for a forever home I want something between 2000-2500.

Very cramped. Since we can't afford to move anytime soon, we desperately need to save up the money to finish our basement. Hopefully next year.

My house is tiny. Only 1,000 square feet - 3br, 1ba, ranch.. However we have an equal amount of unfinished space in the basement that we hope to finish one day. If we don't move out first that is!!

3,200 sq. ft. + 2 car garage and 1,500 sq. ft. unfinished basement
4 bedrooms, +playroom (really 5 bedrooms)
2.5 baths
We lived in an 800 sq. ft. apartment for 8 years  so this was a big change for us.

partially finished basement
3 car garage
(Just want to note that I live out of state (in IL) and our taxes are probably just as high, but our house would have cost much more $$$$$ in NY.)
