Newborn diapers
Just wondering how long your DC used the Newborn size diapers. I have some on my registry -- but I'm afraid of buying too many.

Maybe a week. You can always use bigger diapers and fold them down, so I really found them to be a waste.
Some babies are right on the weight limit anyway.
In the NICU my 3 lb 10oz baby was put immediately in 1's and he was fine. They saved the NB diapers for the very small babies.

I used the newborns for a really long time - atleast 2 months (I think longer). DD was 6 lbs 4 oz at birth and dropped to 5 lbs 9 oz.
They will give you plenty in the hospital - try those first - maybe have some unopened packages at home in different sizes and keep the receipts to return if you don't need them...

my DS is almost a month old and he is still in them. Born at 6 lbs. 6 oz., but last weigh in, he was 7 lbs. 13 oz.

I'd say for about a month and and half. DD was 6lbs 9oz. She was such a skinny chicken, so the NB diapers were perfect for her.

she then got switched to size one, and she is now in size 1-2 at almost 10 weeks

I used one small pack and 1 diaper exactly for my son. Why I remember that I have no clue. So I guess a few days (but he was in NICU for 5 days). And my son was only 7lbs 2 oz at birth (3 weeks early).

I went thru a few packs of them - I think he was in them for a good month... The size 1's took up half his body until recently... I even had some prrmie diapers somoene gave me that I used with him too - I guess he was a little peanut... He was 6lb 8oz when he was born....

DD wore them for about a month and a half and she wasnt all that small at birth - 6lb7oz.

My DS wore them up until 2 days ago, so that'd be 2 weeks. I oticed that the inner upper thigh was red so we changed to the Size 1
