How many of you...
How many of you that are ttc let your mom (or parents) know that you were? My mom and I are close but I just do not know how to broach the subject ...or if I even should!

We havent told our parents anything b/c that would be the topic of our convos EVERYTIME we would talk to them...I can hear my mom know..."So r u pregnant yet ot what??
So no we rather make a suprise announcement when the time comes...

We are having IF issues so my parents know. Subject was mentioned to DH's parents but they were not pleased so we dont mention it to them anymore

We are keeping quiet. I just don't want the extra pressure from family. Besides that we have three already and I just don't want people to say, Wow three don't you think that is enough, or some other crazy, mean comment. I want four children and that is what I am having. So until we get a BFP, mums the word.
ETA....If we did tell them, everytime we spoke to a parent, friend or the like the topic would be on TTC, instead of normal conversation. That goes hand in hand with extra pressure.

I had some medical problems earlier this year and our families knew when we were given the "ok" by the doctor we would try. Our famiies know we are trying, and some very close friends.

LOL.. Everyone knows... I just said.. We are trying to get PG.. Acutually they knew way before we were TTC that we were going to start soon. My mom and I super duper close though. We share everything.

If you tell people, be prepared for them asking you constantly. Which could be painful if it does take a while. My parents ask here and there, but my few friends I have told, know my sched and know when to ask!
So just know yourself and whether or not you could handle it.

I discussed with my mom about a month ago... she actually brought it up ~ so I said we were going to start Feb 08 ~ Originally that is when were going to start trying but right now we are not preventing anything ~ if it happens it happens!

We didnt tell anyone when we were going to TTC. Like Merri, we didnt know how long it would take or if we would have issues. I anticipated we would because I am so irregular. Then I got pregnant and we still didnt tell anyone. I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks and we told only his mom and my mom.
We're not telling anyone when we are going to TTC again, though my mom knows we have to wait at least till my body is back on track.

The only one I told was my best friend... AND I didn't make it seem like we were really trying.. It is more like.. Well, whatever happens happens. We are no longer trying to AVOID it.
I would NEVER tell anyone that we are actively TTC because the questions would NEVER END!!!

Same here.
Plus, for me, the women in my family tend to take over EVERYTHING! This is a very personal thing between me and DH - I just don't think it would be fair to him if it was between me, him, my mom, my nan, my aunt, my SIL, etc. You get the picture?

I told a few people, bc a lot of my friends are in the same boat so I'm comparing and asking them questions..My mom knows, and my mom is actually great, and is telling ME not to put pressuer on myself, bc she knows how I get, so I'm happy about that
