How many Clomid cycles would you do before moving on?
Would you continue to do Clomid cycles if the first 2 did not work? Or would you just move straight onto injectables?

i had 1 bad cycle w clomid-
we went to injectables, I feel if something doesnt work after a few tries move on. Did they maybe increase the dosage?
I was on a 175 dose and had 5 great follicules
I am currently in the 2ww
so fingers crossed

I am in my 5th round of Clomid. If I don't get my BFP next week we are moving on to something else. I am hoping injectables and still giving IUI a try. I don't have IVF coverage.
I was told 6 mos max on Clomid by my RE

This is what I was told as well, but my DH does not have a good count, so I feel like I'm wasting my time and money ($1000 a month out of pocket  ) My RE will not move on to injectables or IVF, he said I'm jumping the gun and to give Clomid a chance.

I did 2 cycles on Clomid with no response so we tried Letrozole for 3 cycles and still no response. Moved on to IVF after that.

My doctor's given me 3 cycles of Clomid. If this doesn't work, then we'll likely go straight to IVF.

Also if you're DH doesn't have a good county IUI chances go way down. Honestly we have sever MF and skipped IUI totally.
If you don't feel comfortable with your RE's protocol get a second opinion. $1K a month is a lot to waste.

I agree. We have unexplained IF so we are hoping IUI works one of these times. Plus it's covered for us

Yes exactly was our situation: 2 cycles clomid, 2 attempts to do IUI with increased clomid dosage (cancelled as I developed allergy to it) and the 3 IUIs with letrozole. Then IVF. And my DH also has on the lower side count. Wish I went for IVF sooner to be honest.

How many Clomid cycles would you do before moving on?
I am on my second Clomid/IUI cycle. My Re says 3 cycles of something and then move on. So if 3 Clomid/IUI cycles don't work then on to injectibles/IUI. IUI is covered for me and I have to do 6 before IVF is partially covered. We are unexplained and I respond to Clomid. I would try one more Clomid cycle if IUI is covered. Good luck!

How many Clomid cycles would you do before moving on?
Many girls on here who haven't responded well to Clomid did Femara instead with better results. Are you doing Clomid with TI or IUI? It makes a difference.... for me with Unexplained IF, the RE told me that TI is a waste of time at my age (I was 36)

I was planning 3 rounds of Clomid and then IUI (possibly with Clomid -- we didn't have a chance to talk about it too much because I got pregnant on my 3rd round of Clomid). GL!

I did four months of clomid IUI. I did not move to injectables bc clomid worked just fine but I never got pregnant. Moving onto ivf now.

How many Clomid cycles would you do before moving on?
My first child I did 7 cycles with clomid , however 6 cycles were without IUI , last and final attempt with clomid was with IUI and it was successful.
Current attempt 3 clomid , 2 letrazole , 1 IUI with injectables , now IVF waiting for blood work and hoping i am successful

I've only done IUIs bc my DH has a low count, but the reason my RE wants me to give it some time to work is because I'm only 26 so he feels I have time to find the right protocol that will work. I'm done trying to see what will work- we've been on this road for over 2 years, and I'm starting to lose hope. I've agreed to do one more cycle with my RE, then DH wants to get a second opinion elsewhere. Between his low count and motility, and my PCOS, we know its going to take something else besides clomid to get me pregnant.
We're taking a break and will be going back in June. In the meantime, I'm hoping to lose some more weight, and start eating healthier. Hoping with all the new changes ill respond better.
