Clomid if you ovulate/regular cycles
I had irregular cycles and through acupunture and herbs I was able to regulate it. Before, my RE wanted me to try clomid to regulate it and I wanted to try and do it natural. Now, even though I am regular for 5 cycles I still am not pregnant so I was going to go on a low dose and then try a IUI. What will it do for me? Isnt clomid just to regulate you?

I have always had very regular cycles, regular O- everything. My RE put me on clomid after 1 natural cycle iui that didn't work. In the past, I had 1 follie, we tried naturally- nothing. 1 follie, we did natural cycle iui- nothing.
This time I was on Clomid. I went in for follicular tracking and had 3 giant follies! It really does increase your chances by adding more eggs. It also allows them to time your ovulation precisely for insemination.

If you have regular ovulatory cycles, Clomid will help you create more follies and better quality eggs.
I was regular and with 50 mg Clomid and IUI, I now have twin boys

Even if you ovulate on your own, Clomid is supposed to "kick it up a notch." You should get a more mature follie and egg. However, it didn't work for me. It's also an estrogen blocker and it thinned my lining to much.

I'm on clomid- so far I have not surged on my own and so I need a HCG trigger shot to ovulate. So I guess everyone is different, for some people it makes you regular but for me I found I still needed help to make me ovulate. And some people do not make any follies at all... i would start out at 50 mg and go from there... good luck!

They would be able to see your follies & measure them on the sonograms if you are being monitored.

I never took clomid b/c we skipped right to injectibles. We wanted a more aggressive treatment even though i have very regular cycles and ovulated on my own. The 2 RE offices i went to both told me a medicated cycle is better than one w/o. No matter what meds you are on, you should df be monitored. GL!
