How long will you/did you wait till...
you told your immediate family that you were preggo? I know most people wait till they are past their first trimester to tell people but does that include your family too?
Just wondering, I am not there yet but just thinking ahead.

I'm not there yet either....
But, I plan to tell my family (parents, in laws, grandparents, and aunt) right away......As for everyone else, I'll wait till 12 weeks.
That's what I plan on doing anyway, when the time comes!

Re: How long will you/did you wait till...
With my first, I waited until I saw the dr. to tell anyone. Family included. The only reason I told anyone I worked with was because I no longer fit into my clothes. That was almost 3 mos. Plus I needed them to know why I was so sick.
With my 2nd, we told everyone right away.
ETA: When/if #3, we will likely tell family right away and wait on everyone else...I had a scare with #2 and had really wished I hadn't told anyone due to the waiting involved and people asking questions who of course you don't tell that you are worried or waiting for results.

Re: How long will you/did you wait till...
Not there yet either, but giving it a lot of thought....
I would like to tell the immediate family early and tell everyone else after 12 weeks, because I'm not sure how I could keep it a secret from parents and in-laws (especially when I decline a glass of wine--they'll know! lol). But my biggest concern is that my immediate family won't be able to keep it a secret. We would have the first grandchildren and they're super duper excited.

I'm going back and forth. I keep thinking I want my mom to know but I also don't want her to be heartbroken if it turns out to be a chemical. I think I could deal with it better than she would. So I haven't decided yet.

Re: How long will you/did you wait till...
I honestly don't know and struggle with this, so I think we'll see when the time comes. Neither DH or I can hold things in so I know if we try to hold out we'll be bursting at the seams to tell everyone. I am hoping we can wait till I get confirmation from the doctor before we tell our immediate family. We'll tell friends sometime after that. I highly doubt we'll be able to wait 3 months to tell everyone. I will only tell 2 people at work probably right away so they know what's going on (and they know we're TTC). I'll tell everyone else, including my boss, after the 3 month mark.

Re: How long will you/did you wait till...
I would wait a couple months to tell friends and outside family (meaning aunts, uncles, cousins, ect). But when it comes to my IMMEDIATE family (my parents and sisters) there's no way i'll want to wait that long. I'd love them to be apart of every single step. Even if something were to happen (God Forbid) then I'd still want them to be there to support me, since I am VERY close to them. So they'll know probably as soon as I get a + on the pee stick. lol. Or at least right after the doctor appointment
