How long to hear back about appraisal?
We had the appraisal on the house we are buying done on Wednesday and haven't heard anything. The waiting is killing me. How long does it usually take?

Hi Lauren, I used to work for an appraisal company years ago. For a single family house, it should be about a week turnaround time. All depends of course, but if you don't hear by this Wednesday, you should after Thanksgiving.

After we had our appraisal, it came back just fine so the bank didn't rush to call us and tell us. We didn't find out until 2 days after the appraisal came in to the bank! We were so unnecessarily nervous for those 2 days.

Ours came back about 5 business days later (with a weekend thrown in). We're trying to close now and I feel like everything is running in slow motion with Thanksgiving being days away :(
