How long till I am no longer paranoid?
Need to know when I will finally stop checking the TP every time I go to the bathroom! Like I am waiting for AF to show. It's awful! Trying so hard to live in the moment and be excited without being so nervous. Please tell me this goes aeay eventually (soon!)

How long till I am no longer paranoid?
From what I hear... never!
I find myself running to the bathroom just to wipe and make sure there's no blood. It's getting old but I can't help it!

I was due yesterday and I still worry. I would say though that I def. started to relax after my 12 week sonogram. Like I said, I still worry but I'm a lot less stress. The beginning is so scary!

Honestly, I stopped worrying when I could feel the baby. Once I felt those little kicks, I knew he was ok! It's tough sometimes, but just try to enjoy your pregnancy! Congrats!

I'm kind of glad I am not the only one. I thought maybe it was just me, but I guess lots of people are like this. I'm 38 + weeks and still do it - though for the last couple of weeks it's probably more to check and see if there is any change in fluid rather than sooo nevous about blood.

I feel like this would be an interesting question for the parenting board. I feel like when he's here I'll be paranoid for different reasons and I'm pretty sure that will never go away either!

Honestly, for me the paranoid feeling will never go away until the day I bring my LO home.

Precisely. When I was pregnant with my first, I told my dad I was nervous and hoping to get to twelve weeks because I thought I would relax more. He laughed at me and said you're 30 years old and I still worry about you every day. That will never go away...it's just the nature of the worry changes over time.

I was able to relax a little after the NT scan, a little more after the anatomy scan, and now that I can feel kicks a lot I'm even more calm. Still worried, but it's not as all consuming as it was the first 12 weeks.

Nah, it's not quite as awful once the first trimester passes. I mean, you're always paranoid about stuff, but for different reasons. With #1, my entire 1st trimester was awful stressful because I was constantly running to check if I was bleeding. Once I got past 12wks, I realized it was a healthy pregnancy and I can chill. No longer checked TP like a mad woman, but began to worry about other things going wrong that I won't get into for fear of making OTHERS paranoid. lol. Then as birth approaches, paranoid about delivery, baby's (and your own) safety, etc. THEN baby's born and you worry about SIDS, if they're eating enough, etc, etc. Finally you get past newborn/infant stage and worry about development. I feel like now that DD is a toddler, I'm no longer quite as paranoid. Still worry about things (as any mother does) but less extreme. And just as I relax, I get pregnant with #2 and the game starts all over again. Right now I'm in the checking TP stage, just as you are. But this too shall pass 
Just keep yourself mentally busy and your body relaxed and get through these next few weeks. But accept that you now love somebody more than yourself so it's hard to NOT worry about them. It'll get less extreme though - at least it did for me.

Never!
I went from 1st trimester fears of MS to just worrying about random cramping or pulling. Now I am 40+ weeks, and my new worry is a slow leak. Then I know once I had DD, I was crazy worried about SIDS. It never ends!

Never. Still paranoid at 25 weeks. i'm not as paranoid as i was in the beginning b/c i can feel him move. But the feeling never goes away.

With both pregnancies I was anxious until I could feel consistent kicking... And then the kicking isn't consistent enough and you always wonder, "what if..."
Look at it this way -- it's preparation for being a mother. A lifetime of worry!
