How long have you ever been alone........

The movie question got me thinking...

How long have you ever just been ALONE. I mean truly ALONE

For two years I was alone.
I was not dating anyone
I was not trying to see anyone
I was too far from my father to see him often
I was too far from other family to see them much at all
I worked but didn’t hang out with coworkers after work
I wasn’t going to school so I didn’t hang out with those kind of friends
I didn’t have friends in person I hung out with
I woke up, went to work, came home slept and repeat
Weekends I slept in and did stuff by myself
For two years. I was alone.
It was WONDERFUL!

Just me, my car, my cat, my computer and my career.
I was 21-23yrs old

How long have you ever been alone........

I never had a REAL boyfriend until I got married. So I was alone for my whole adult life. Until I finally met the right one at 37 :)

never been alone. went from living with parents to get married and living with DH

From about 25-30 I lived a lone. Of course I saw my family and dated but lived completely on my own.

Alone in the sense of not being in a relationship or living with someone? I guess I would say six years...that streak ended when I met my most current SO Jan '15 . He left me Apr. '16 so I guess the clock restarted the, But truly alone, with no family , friend, co-workers etc...Never.

I lived alone for two years but I saw friends or family most weekends.

I lived alone from 22 to 41. I had various boyfriends come and go, but never lived with one full time. I've always been close to my family. I think the longest streak of not being in a serious exclusive relationship was 4 years - but I was dating several people on and off.

As far as completely alone - I've traveled alone, but I will say that every time I've traveled solo, I've met people so I never felt ALONE.

Never. I went from living at home to living with roommates in college and then moved in with DH

Had the same boyfriend from 16-23. We broke up a handful of times over those years, and fooled around with other people.
After that permanently ended, I started dating my DH.
I lived with my parents still.
When we got engaged, I was 25 and we moved in together.
12 years later, still living with him ;)

I also come from a huge family, I am one of 21 grandchildren, so there were always aunts or uncles or cousins around too.

Before I turned 16. Since 1991 I've been with my DH so I've never been alone.

I lived alone for a couple of years in NYC. I had a lot of plans with friends but there were plenty of times I was alone. It was amazing and I think everyone should do it!

Never and if I'm being 100% honest, I fantasize about it a lot. Moving somewhere and starting over by myself...I have a DH and a DD - am I a horrible person?

Yes, but not long enough.

Not that I want to leave my DH but I probably should have had more time alone.

Oh well.

When I got separated a few yrs ago it was the 1st time I was ever on my own. At 45 yrs old.
I either lived with my mother, daughter, boyfriend or spouse. It was wonderful. I date but haven't lived with anyone since. I love living alone.

ETS: I only knew 2 people when I moved to the city after my separation. But always had friends close by on LI. There are plenty of times I'm by myself here in the city.

DH and I were dating while I was in college but I went OOS and lived by myself from freshman to junior year so I was pretty much alone.

I lived alone from the time I was in college until I was 30 and I moved in with now DH. I had a few relationships, but lived alone. Loved it.

How long have you ever been alone........

I lived alone for about 2 years but I was always going out with friends or having people over, so it really wasn't alone. I did enjoy those nights though it was just me, my Chinese food and a good movie. I still miss those nights!

Not at all! I always wondered what it would have been like to have my own apt lol

But there were times that I wasn't dating anyone.
