How long does it usually take to process claims?

I have had 2 medical claims being processed for weeks now. Chat Icon They're from my FET and I guess embryology for the day or two before.... and I'm trying to figure out how much we've spent out of our lifetime max.
Any idea how long this could/should take? I called the ins. co but they couldn't answer me.
Also, I found out today (from my insurance co.) that I'm charged (on paper) $340 per ultrasound... and I guess my dr's office isn't considered to be a 'participating provider' for where they have to send the claims (which I've never seen before- it's a separate place to send ultrasound claims) so every one of their ultrasound claims is being denied! Chat Icon Chat Icon
I started to really worry, but my insurance provider told me it's not my responsibility... and that the dr's office will just have to write it off. Do you think that's true? Chat Icon
ETA: Also re: those ultrasound claims, if they are in fact just written off- they don't come out of my lifetime coverage then, right?

Although my ins is quite different, my claims take a bout 2-3 weeks to get paid to the doctor's office. As for the sono's, do you have "out of network" coverage, that might take care of those. But if the ins is not paying for them then I can't see how it would come from your lifetime coverage. The financial office should know all this a head of time so that they can go over all this with you. Hope it gets resolved quickly!!

The problem claims take longer, I noticed. As for the sonos...that's crazy!!!! But, if your insurance company says you are not responsible, you are not and since they aren't paying anything for them, it doesn't come off your maximum.

Thanks. I hope they're right about the sonograms. Chat Icon That is not a bill I want to be paying later on! Chat Icon

I don't know why these two claims have been being processed forever. Chat Icon I checked again and they're still processing.... oh well, I guess I just keep waiting...
