How long can formula stay in the sippy cup before it should be discarded?
ds takes forever to finish it. i'm literally crawling around the room after him to get a few sips here and there b/c he won't sit in his highchair or my lap for it.

Yup.
Personally, at home, I am not doing formula in a sippy. I don't want the sippy to be for formula. It is for water or milk in my house (he hasn't had milk, just eventually).
Daycare sometimes gives him formula in the sippy, but he drinks more water from it than anything.

Yup.

ds is bf and doesn't take a bottle. he's been drinking from a straw since 5 months.

It's 2 hours if it hasn't been touched at all by baby, but 1 hour if baby has had some because the bacteria from the mouth starts spoil formula.
