How long between coloring hair?
I just do single process color every 4 weeks but I feel like those straggly greys start poking through within 2 weeks after it's colored!!! Anyone else feel like they have to color super frequently?

Every 4 weeks. I could go 3, but I push it to 4 because it's so expensive!!
I see little shimmers peeking through 2 days a coloring though. Neverending!

What kind of shampoo do you use? Also do you swim a lot? I find that when I swim a lot it is pointless to color as the color disappears the next day. I also like John Frieda shampoo as it extends the color.

I used to go every 8, then had to reduce to every 6 now I am thinking might have to go to 5.

Highlights and low lights every 10 weeks or so.
Highlights are way more forgiving than single process.
I do the lowlights too so I have all kinds of colors going on in my hair and it makes it easier to stretch out the time in between!

My hair grows fast. I stretch it to 6 weeks, but really should go at 4.
I also do single process permanent to cover my very many grey hairs.

This is interesting to me. I'm a hair dye virgin but need to start very soon due to my grays straggling in. It's not a lot so I would love to go every 10 or so weeks. I think I am going to try high & low lights. My hair is a black brown- do you think it will work being so dark?

I do the same as Nell.
My hair is VERY dark brown and my hair is generally very blonde (I get more highlights than lowlights) and nobody ever believes my natural color is that dark. It will totally work.

I worry about it but like someone else said, either that or I have gray. I was very concerned when a few times my colorist failed to leave it on long enough and it didn't cover and I had to go back two days later. That bothered me using the chemicals so soon after someone's error. After that happened twice, I had to find someone new.

About 8 weeks. I really should do more because of my roots and my color (I'm sporting a blue ombre at the moment), but I don't have the time. My grey shows through on the roots only, so if I didn't have blue, I could get away with going every 6-8 weeks.

My hair seems to grow so fast and I feel like 4 weeks is ideal for me and I hate when it looks like it needs to be done. I'm amazed so many people feel like they need to have it done again after 3 weeks. I have more grays just within the past year, and the grays don't seem to hold color as well. I really hope I can stick with 4 weeks. At the end of 2016 I went almost 2 months, because I had so many medical appointments and so little time. It was certainly a mess that I don't want to see again.
