How long before the baby...
do you plan on working. Originally I was going to try to work until the middle of August (I am due Sept.3), but I am soooo tired lately. What are all of you ladies doing?

Hopefully I will be able to work until the day I deliver. I have limited time off and don't want to waste anydays prior to delivery.

all of my maternity leave (FMLA) is unpaid, and i have to use my accrued vacation and sick time while i am out. so i would ideally like to work up until the day i deliver, but if i need to take a few days here and there, i have them available to me.
ETA: i am due 9/8 and i find myself getting slower and tired more easily, but i work at a desk all day, so it's easy to take a break (or come on LIF  ) if i need to relax

I am due Sept 5. I was hoping to work until Aug 29 but I think I am going to make Aug 22 my last day. I am just getting too tired and it's getting to nuts here.

I am due on Sept. 25th but lucky for me I am a teacher so I've been done a week now and I am not going back in the fall so I have from now until the baby arrives to just relax. I am VERY thankful too because it's getting more uncomfortable now as the pregnancy progresses and it would be hard getting up, commuting, and working all day.

same here, my SIL laughed at me for saying this, this weekend - but I don't get maternity leave from my job so my time off is limiited and I'd rather have more time after the birth.
Obviously I have no idea what the future holds, but my hope is that I can work up until delivery.

my plan was as long as I can - but the Dr just took me out of work bc of my feet swelling. I have 7 weeks to go

My job gives me paid leave one month before my due date. My last day of work will be Friday, Sept. 26th since I am due Oct. 28th!! I cannot wait!!

Due 9/8/08
I was going to work up to the day I delivered but frankly it doesn't pay for me.
Since my vacation and sick days are accurred by the months I work, then I'm losing 3days vacation and 2days sick leave no matter what I do.
Also since my first 5 days out are considered "Sick" days before short term DBL kicks in, it doesn't seem to matter when I leave it just makes a difference of 70% of my pay or 100%
So I'm taking my last full day on my Bday Aug 20 then working from home Aug 21 (my dad is flying in that day) and a half day on Aug 22 to clean up my desk.
I'm officially on 'sick leave' Aug 25th
Short term DBL will kick in even if I don't have the baby yet and then Maternity short term DBL kicks in the day of birth for 6weeks (minimum)
Its a lot of complicated math but I finally worked out that leaving early will give me a chance to be comfortable in the August Heat and still get paid.
ETA: I can do this because my doctor approves of me staying home earlier since my commute to and from Long Island to Lower Manhattan is almost 2hours in Summer heat. Its best for me and baby to stay home.

Well my EDD was moved up to 7/13 and its 7/3 im still at work. If the does not come this weekend I'll be at work on Monday

I'd like to work until the very end! I work at the hospital where I'm delivering. I also have a very laid back job and my dept is really small so it's really easy to just work shorter days and take breaks when I need to.

i was going to go until Sept. 1st i am due Sept. 19th but decided to make it Aug. 25th b/c i have a long commute everyday from PA to NY. Its just too much and I am not killing myself. I am not coming back to work here anyway. Luckily i have like 12 vacation days to get paid for still and some sick days.Last time i took a month off this time it will only be like 3 weeks off.

I am due on Sept 25th and I plan to stop work on either Sept 5th or the 11th. It depends how I'm feeling though I'm sure work will be taking it easy on me in those last weeks. It's the commute that takes the biggest toll on me.
I have to use at least 10 of my 20 vacation days beforehand because I can only carry over 10 into the new year. I'll be out on maternity leave through mid-February since I get 4.5 months paid leave. I'll just tack on the other 10 carryover vacation days to the end of my maternity leave so I am out for a total of 5 months.
