How is the service at your obgyn office?
I can't help but feel continually disgruntled with the service I've been receiving at my doctor's office.
At last week's ultrascreen, the ultrasound tech (from Madonna) was really unfriendly, borderline rude. She almost seemed irritated at any of my questions. She was also shaking and prodding the baby quite roughly, which I didn't like.
I tried to schedule my 16 week AFP but then they suggested I schedule it at my next appointment (this week). I always feel like I am bothering the staff. They have this apathetic attitude that I am really beginning to dislike. It's like the admins seem irritated when I can't take the ONE timeslot they offer me. I have a job and life too!
DH thinks I should not care about the staff. They will not be delivering the baby.
Edit: When DH accompanies me to the appointment, the staff is MUCH nicer. What's up with that?!?!?!

The girls in my office are FANTASTIC!!! every single person I have come in contact with has been great. It is very refreshing to see. Even when I call they are prompt in returning my call and answering any questions I have.
MrsRivera rec them and I am THRILLED. My doctor is Awesome too.

While I absolutley adore my doctor, it's a very large practice and the staff is sometimes very frustrating to deal with.

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
I loved my OB's office and most of the staff. There was one sono tech that was kind of cold and one receptionist who was a little snotty, but other than that I liked everyone else in the office. You have to be comfortable because these are the people that you are going to be going to for so many appts. For my last week I was at the dr every single day.

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
I had one issue once with my office. They would not let me schedule the 12 week sono the same day as my appointment because they were 4 days apart.
When I met with the doctor, he asked me why I came in 4 days apart and didn't make the appt's together. I explained that the staff said they wouldn't do it, it wasn't allowed. He said, "well, you can do it, you are the patient, you always have the choice, and I will speak with the staff."
That was the only problem I ever had.

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
My ob has a solo practice and I always feel like I get my individual attention. He is an awesome Ob. When he is with you, he makes you feel like you are his only patient. He does his own sonos and everything. The thing I really love is that he waits outside by the front desk after he sees you in the examining room before he sees his next patient. I guess he wants to make sure that you didn't forget to ask him something.
ETA: All the women in the office are awesome too! His wife is the receptionist so I think that helps.

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
fabulous!
receptionists, scheduling girls, nurses, the obgyn herself, everyone is great! they're so helpful and if i have any questions i always get a call back pretty quickly.
even if the staff won't be delivering your baby, you still have to go through them for the remainder of the pregnancy. customer service is one of my biggest pet peeves...why not test the waters and see what else is out there? you're not too too far into your pregnancy, you'd be surprised what peace of mind an all around good obgyn office gives you!
oh and when your DH goes with and they treat you better that is fishhhhy! is he a big mean looking guy?

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
Everyone at my office is great(I am down South through) The techs have been less than warm-not sure if they are instructed to be that way or what. I now make it my personal mission to engage them.
I did have an RE I went to that his staff was the WORST-I complained about them. His office ended up closing and merging with another Dr so I guess I wasn't the only one that felt that way.

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
I absolutely love my doctors office. As far as Madonna I have encountered a couple of not so friendly techs there, personally I don't think they should be working in this type of business. I remember the one girl who did my ultrascreen, she was the worst. But my most recent visit we got the nicest tech ever, we are definitely requesting her from now on. We went to the new Madonna office that moved to Brightwaters.

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
After many bad OB/Gyn experiences, I finally found a doctor and practice that I love. They get back to you with test results really early, the wait to see the doctor is never more than 10 minutes, and I can schedule my appointments around work. I love them.

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
My doc office has a whole operation going on... So, aside from the waiting time-- service is pretty good.
My doc has his own line and assistant, so she knows his patients and can keep track of his patient load, instead of women in the front taking care of the whole practice.
I always make my next appt at the end of my current appt. They also schedule my sonos for me with the people upstairs, then book my doc appt based on that.
The office is at the hospital, so maybe that is why it's more of a well oiled machine.

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
I've been very happy with them. The nurses are all fantastic and even the receptionists are very accomodating. I have had a few times where I have had to wait a little longer then I would have liked, but now I know to avoid certain times of the day. I would reccomend them!

Re: How is the service at your obgyn office?
I really love my doctor and the staff. I feel blessed that they seem to be very on top of things, are always nice and quick to return calls when I call. Even today I was having car trouble and had to reschedule my appointment for later in the day. They were very concerned and even the doctor asked me about it later when I finally got there. They have put my nerves at ease many times and have really helped make my pregnancy a good experience.
IMO, if you are not happy/comfortable, definitely look elsewhere. This is such an important time in your life!
