OMG - NO!!!!!! I do NOT want Stella to be the mother! NO NO NO!

I dont' think its Stella either. Remember the episode when they broke up and he said- it could have been like this (with two blonde children and Stella telling the kids to go for ice cream). But it wasn't that....

I don't think its going to be Stella at least I hope its not, but I think it will have something to do with her which led him to his wife.
I agree the umbrella must be a symbol for something, it was just too "perfectly bright" and shown so many times in the episode for it not to be lol.

And I hate that Robin isn't the mother.
I also don't love the show as much as I used to

i have said this from the first episode with this girl in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did you all notice that TED had the yellow umbrella???? THE mom had the yellow umbrella (going back many episodes)....Stella had a blue one...
I think it will wind up being a FRIEND of Stella's....

Yes, it's Ted telling his kids the story of how he met their mother.
He met Stella last year and they were supposted to get married and she left him at the alter. And went back to her DD's father.
I hope to god she is not the mom. She always bugged me on the show.
I agree with a PP who said that it could be the chef from the first season.

I think the mother is Robyn-Ted took her yellow umbrella from their apartment. In previous episodes, the "girl with the yellow umbrella" is the mom. I wonder if when they say "Aunt Robyn" they are referring to someone else. Otherwise, how would you explain this yellow umbrella? Very intriguing! My favorite show!!

my theory and i'm stickin' to it is that Stella introduces him to the mother...either because bakery girl is a friend of hers or relative.....
also - as MANY others pointed out - there would be a THIRD kid on that couch if it was stella....STELLA'S daughter!

Stella is there with her baby daddy/fiancee and they are still together.
I think this pretty much means she introduces Ted to the mom or provides closure to him so he can really find the mom.

Yeah. The yellow umbrella was mentioned in the episode where he met stella. He said something about using the yellow umbrella the day he met her.

It was funny bc when I saw Stella on Monday night, I thought the same thing, IT CAN"T BE HER!!!!
I do think like others have said that Stella will introduce him to the mother in the next episode! I just can't wait to see who it is

TED got the UMBRELLA at a CLUB 2 seasons back!!!! the mom left the umbrella there I thought.. DH and I were talking that she got a new umbrella and that is how they met.. same umbrella in NYC that is Bright Yellow.
It is NOT Robin's umbrella. Ted tells peoples names to the kids "Aunt Robin, Stella,,etc...." so it is NOT stella.. that is for Closure!
