How does the hearing test work?
Just curious. DS had his 4 yr well visit. For his 3 yr he couldn't sit still long enough.
He told me that he heard music in his ear. He said it played Old MacDonald.
Just wondering if that sounded right and how it tested his ears. After she showed on the screen he got a smiley face so he was good.

How does the hearing test work?
I dont know.. they did it at AJ's school and AJ was too distracted for it. But she takes normal hearing tests at the ENT which I trust a lot more. They started her with tones that rewarded her with lights and toy action if she looked in the right direction (18m or less).
Now she has the same test we do. Headsets, tones up and down and she has to raise her hand on the side she hears it. Hence I trust their test more.
I have hearing loss so this is a biggie for me.

See. I feel like he just sat there and the. The little computer screen showed a happy face. He didn't really do anything or move and they did it separate. Meaning one ear at a time.

How does the hearing test work?
DS (20 months) just had hearing tested. For him they placed him in a booth and he had to turn toward the sounds. He needs to go for further evaluation and they told me that they will play sounds and measure the brains response. So maybe that is what they did. My DS needs to be sedated since he is so young and will not keep he headset on.

It was probably a tympanic test to check middle ear pressure (sorry i can't direct link from phone)

Thats part of it too. For AJ, she sits in my lap and they stick that thing in her ear, she hears a tone and it calculates the pressure. Its part of the hearing test but not the type we think of.
LOL I'm just laughing because she's a pro now. I still have to sit in the sound proof room but she sits on her own with her headsets. Raises her tiny hand along with the beeps and looks her face and eyes forward to 'concentrate' on the sounds. So cute! She'll say "Do that again" haha! Like darling you heard it obviously - she just couldn't tell which side until they play it again.
Heck she has better hearing and eye sight than I do!!!!
