How do you usually spend NYE?

We just got an evite for a private party at a bar, but it is $100 per person. That is steep, no? Maybe I'm out of the loop. If you go out NYE in the city, where do you go, and how much do you spend?

We usually make dinner at home or go out to dinner early.

We were considering going to an event at the theatre in Northport and it's $150 per person.

is it $100 inclusive of food and drinks? if so, that's pretty sweet imo!

I haven't been out on NYE in ages (I have 2 kiddies I spend the holiday with now), but we used to spend a couple hundred PP to go out to any hotel/catering hall, etc.

That is not out of line...some places are upwards of $200 depending on where you go. New Years is expensive but $100 with open bar and food is not expensive for NYE

Normally with friends....since my DH works almost every NYE!

We spend every NYE at my Grandmother's house with family & friends.

That's definitely not a bad price for going out. We went out to a bar or restaurant for NYE with friends every year before we got married, but now it seems like one of our friends has a party at their home each year, so we do that.

We go out to an early dinner, or eat in depending on our moods, and we either watch a movie/or NY Rockin' Eve on TV or we go to friends houses to celebrate.

we hang out with friends on LI.

This year we are getting dinner (there is 12 of us) and then going to a friends house to drink & eat till the ball drops. Some of us have kids, some are preggos, etc, so its easier AND way cheaper this way.

Just the 2 of us with a bottle of champagne. We usually play a game & listen to music. We put the countdown on at like 11:55, just to see the ball drop.

This year NOTHING

Last year we had a party at my house and im sure most of you remember my uncle passed away of a massive heart attack on his way home. Not really in to "celebrating" this year

If we had a party to go to, we'd go.

But I don't mind PJs and appetizers while waiting to bring in the new year with my DH!

It is expnsive & it's not.

$100 p/p is coomon for NYE events, esepcially in the city, but yes, to me, it is too much to spend on going out for one night.

We usually go to a friend's house, or out to dinner locally with friends, but the one year all of our friends went into Manhttan, we stayed home & had a party for 2, complete with appetizers & games.


It was great. I dressed up & wore heels, b/c it was NYE , but then I put my PJ's on a after a few drinks! The beauty of saying home!

usually to a local catering hall...lots of fun..it's 5 minutes from the house so I like it.

We either go to friends house....or We stay home!

Nothing major. But the most favorite thing we do is always cook a nice healthy breakfast on New years day.

We try and start the new year off being Healthy and a full stomach.

we used to go to parties at peoples homes. then we felt out with the people that were giving the parties.

so last year and this year will be the same we are going to a local restaurant. it is 85 a person includes drinks till 2 and a 5 course meal. it is pretty good compared to other places around town.
