How do you store books?
Bookshelves, bookcases?
Some kind of cubby storage system?
Any other ideas?
I am looking for a compact way to store books

We have a ton of books.
I had them in two baskets and then in piles everywhere.
In like November, I cleared off the bottom shelf of one of my built ins and put them there...and there is still a basket in his room of books too.
My DS is older now though, and likes to take them off and stuff, but at the baby age, I think baskets are fine

Right now in a large basket, but I want DH to build these shelves (when he gets a weekend off probably)....because we have an empty wall in her room

When I doubled the size of our house, I designed a library room. I'm currently building custom floor to ceiling bookcases. DC each have a bookcase in their rooms as well. DD has a two shelf bookcase, and DS has a 4 shelf one.
Every bookcase we have so far is beyond full.....

Before DS was born we purchased a five shelf bookcase. I remember there only being like five books there and thinking I will never fill up the shelves. Well two shelves are full with books and the others have toys, stuff animals and such on them. I am so glad I bought one for DS.

We had so many books lying around the den. I finally went to bed bath and beyond and bought two wicker baskets, filled them up with the books, and put one on each side of the tv table. so much better! We also have a small bookshelf in DS's playroom.

We have a tall 5 shelf bookcase in the den just for their books. Art supplies and puzzles take up two of the shelves.
Library books are kept in a separate basket.
They each have a three shelf bookcase in their bedrooms.
We also have floor to ceiling built-ins in the office/library... 10 feet by 7 feet.
We're big on books.

Rob built me a few built in bookshelves. I keep my books on one side of the shelves in the office/library and the boys are on the other side. Downstairs in the playroom the upper half of the shelf is mine and the lower is theirs. They have all of the shelf space in their room.
