its spelled "oo" why would anyone pronounce it differently?
as the only person who answered ruff I would say it is because people have different accents....like there is a Long Island accent, a Southern accent, an accent from a different country, some people just say things different.....i also say Rum instead of room

I get the whole accent thing, but you don't say but for boot or spuk for spook, do you?

a friend from college who is from new hampshire says RUFF for ROOF and RUM for ROOM and it would always make me laugh, but would drive some people nutty
