How do you organize your DC's closet/dresser?
I was cleaning out DD's clothes and putting away the stuff she has outgrown and I am starting to feel unorganized. Some onesies I hang some I fold. Shirts I hang and dresses...But then 2 of her drawers are empty and I feel like I am wasting space. I know it's a silly question but what do you hang and what do you fold? How do you organize their clothes?
EDITED: DO YOU HANG SHIRTS THAT AREN'T ONESIES?

I know exactly how you feel! DD is almost 10 months old.
We do 1 drawer for short sleeved onesies 1 drawer for long sleeved onesies 1 drawer for pants
We also have some shelves in DDs dresser/changer combo so we have a basket for socks and a basket for bibs.
Everything else is hung up.
Hope this helps

Re: How do you organize your DC's closet/dresser?
Cureently the closet only has a few of his winter coats...and the rest of the space is filled with DH and MY winter coats!! We just have no room for them anywhere else...I need to invest in most space saver bages LOL
But, he does have TWO dressers...one is 4 drawers, the other is 6... and the drawers are HUGE!
For the main dresser, which is the 6 drawer one, the top two are current sized clothes, mainly onsies. I keep the outfits folded together as well. The next two drawers are thicker outfits, sweaters, and his jeans. All in current size of the next size up. The bottom drawers are clothes that he won't fit into for quite some time LOL.
The other dresser is for everything else... The top drawer is bibs, socks, shoes, and hats. The next down is towels, bath supplies. The next is clothes for next year LOL. And the last is empty right now...still don't know what to keep in there. I used to keep blankets till DH built the drawer under the crib LOL...

Re: How do you organize your DC's closet/dresser?
I am a complete psycho as well and I have everything LABELED.
We have 6 drawers. Three are under the changing table attachment right now so they are dedicated to changing stuff, sheets, towels, etc.
The other three have -shoes, socks, hats, bibs -sleep-n-plays, sleep sacks
The bottom of the armoire has pilles and they consist of the following all folded in half- -3-6 onesies -0-3 onesies long sleeve onesies all sizes but small on top, lol sweat pants shorts
I hang in the armoire in sections by type and then smaller to larger (I don't think I'm spelling armoire right but whatever)- romper type outfits sweatsuits shirts pants sweaters/sweatshirts outerwear
It's hard to keep up with that though and we'll see what happens.

Re: How do you organize your DC's closet/dresser?
I hang jackets and sweaters and fold everything else (but, I have a boy)
ETA: for the top two drawers I have those insertable oranizers.
in one drawer, I have short sleeves onesies in white, short sleeved onesies color/design, short sleeves t-shirts, and cotton diaper covers.
in the other drawer I have sock, long sleeved color/design onesies and long sleeved white onesies.
in the large drawer I have two piles for pants (one jeans/cords/khakis and one sweats and crawlers) and I have separate piles for Long sleeve t shirt onesies, long sleeve button down onesies, short sleeved t shirt onesies, light sweaters, and "specialty" (ie sweater vests and jersey type shirts)
then, in a tall open cabinet I have bins.
first bin has all of his pj's and sleep sacks
second bin has receiving blankets and bed sheets
third bin has heavier blankets
there is also a small drawer in the cabinet where I have another organizer with his bibs, hats, and wash cloths.
I weed through his clothes every so often to remove what is too small, and I have a large plastic bin in our closet housing all clothes that I've washed that are "next in line" size wise.
having all these predetermined piles helps me stay better organized.
I just hope someone I know has a boy soon! I need to get rid of his stuff!
this is something like what I have

Re: How do you organize your DC's closet/dresser?
I have in drawers: (for Both DCs) -onesies, pajamas, socks, bibs (when we used)
I hang everything else hung in the closests: -shirts (long together, short together) fancy and hang around and the fancier onesies I have them wear as shirts and not under stuff (ie GAP ones) -pants, dressy, casual, hang around the house, etc -sweaters -sweatshirts
Bec my theory is that everything gets lost in drawers and I will never remember or see them to think to put them on. Things, at least with me, get lost in drawers. I like to see everything at a glance! That goes for my clothes too...I hang up A LOT!!!
I think of "Natalie Sands" in Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985) ...:
"decisons...decisions!"
