I just moved my 20 month old to a toddler bed because she started jumping out of the crib. We used a crib tent with my older dd, but it doesn't fit on younger dd's crib, so we just converted it. She has slept in it for 2 nights and hasn't gotten out once!

My dd was 2 and started climbing out of her crib. Her 3rd time climbing out, she hit her face on the way down and I decided that she was ready. I didn't want her to get even more hurt.

When she began throwing herself out of the crib. I am not confortable with the crib tent so she went into her crib - converted to a toddler bed and then 4 months later, into a full sized bed

That said, we actually held DS off - even though they're just over 18 mos apart. At about 16 mos he started flipping himself out (literally - flipping. like a gymnast.). Climbing i could have dealt with but he did a full-on somersault over the top bar like 4 times in 2 weeks. We had to push it b/c we were in the process of moving so he waited until the day after he turned 18mos (1 year ago tomorrow, actually ).

DS started climbing - and falling - out the crib. We were afraid he would get hurt so we switched to a toddler bed. He was about 20 months at the time.

my dd never once tried to get out.... I didnt convert the crib until she was a few months older then three!
