how do you know your toddler is ready to cut down to 1 nap?
sorry if this is a stupid question. but how do you know your toddler is ready to cut down to 1 nap?
my ds (14 months) has been only sleeping 8-9 hours a night but i have to wake him each nap. i let him sleep about 2 hours each nap, sometimes 2 1/2 hours.
i'm wondering if i cut out 1 nap, if he'll sleep longer at night...?

DD cut them out on her own- she just refused to go down at 10am anymore. She sleeps about 10 hours a night and naps for 2-3 hours in the afternoon at 18 months. I think we lost the morning nap around that age(14 months).

Jack was only having lousy naps so I cut one out. He goes in at 12 and sleeps until about 230...nightime is 8-730

DS only takes two on the weekends. He doesn't need the first one at all, usually he will take it if he is really exhausted and that's it.
But if my DS was like yours, and I'd have to wake him from naps, but he wasn't sleep that much at night, I'd cut a nap. Sleeping at night is the more important thing to learn.

My dd is only 11 mo old and she has given up her second nap. But she does sleep 12 plus hours at night and 2 plaus hours for nap. I wanted her to take that next nap but she just won't do it. And when she does its half an hour of crying for 10 min sleep.

my dd just stopped her afternnon nap at 6 months.  she now takes a 2.5-3 hour nap in the morning at that is it

Madison took her nap away in the morning on her own, just would not go down anymore at 10, now she takes a hour or so in the afternoon and that is it.. oooo ya wait we don't sleep at all
