How do you get a toddler to take medicine? What do you do when s/he spits or throws up the medicine?
It is SUCH a struggle getting 19m DS to take his antibiotics. DS doesn't eat much to begin with and is eating even less now that he has an ear infection. Last night he spit out and then threw up his dinner. Sigh.
How do you get your toddler to take medicine?
If s/he spits or throws it up, do you give another full dose right away?
We ended up waiting about an hour and then gave him half a dose hoping that he didn't spit out all of the antibiotics we gave him.

We get it flavored at CVS which helps. DS also seems to not mind it at all when we put it in his milk.

We use the syring dropper and do tiny little squirts at a time towards the back inside of his cheek so its harder to spit out then all of it all at once. It make the process longer but it worked.
Now he is old enough and we tell him it makes him invisible and he believes us, so he takes it bc he thinks we cant see him after and he has to clap then in order for us to be able to see him again.... kids.

Open mouth, Hold Nose, Squirt/insert meds, he takes a breath in and its done.

We had to do the same thing with some nasty tasting meds. He survived!
