How do you decide what toys to donate/discard?
I need to do a spring cleaning. My kids are 5 1/2 and 3 1/2. I feel like I should be able to get rid of baby toys, but when I encourage my kids to donate old toys I am met with huge resistance. My siblings don't have kids yet, so I have no one in the family to pass things along to. I feel like these are good, well cared for toys. Some things I don't want to get rid of, but where do you put them? I need help with this. Would you hire an organizer? I feel like I already purchased organization items but they are full and then since the items are out of sight they don't play with them until they dump the entire bin on the floor. Then my house is a huge mess again.

I take toys out of circulation and store them in the basement for a bit before giving them away - somewhat an out of sight, out of mind thing. If they don't seem to notice they are gone, I donate them.
DS 1 has a fabulous memory though so it's hard to do!
