New...but looking to donate toys...
Good Afternoon,
I am a member of LIW and was looking to maybe get some help from here as well. My sister has a ton of toys that she would like to donate somewhere. They are used, but are in great condition and she is having a problem finding a place to take them. She really doesn't want to just throw them out...Does anyone know of someplace that could take them??

I donate mine to the Light House Mission in Patchauge. Sister Elaine is great! They do alot for the people in the community who are barely scraping by with their children. Good luck.

Layla house in Ethiopia can always use toys for the aids orphans...we donate everything to them..contact me for info if interested

How about a local hospital with a cancer unit for children? We've made many donations to Schneider's Childrens Hospital

I know that Stony Brook won't take used toys, due to the germ factor.

I work at a school for children with special needs and the children that attend the school all live in a residential facilty...we realy on donations and accept them all the time. We are in East Meadow.

Schneiders takes them - we gave them 4 bags of stuffed animals along with other toys. We received a thank you note afterwards about the smiles those toys put on the children's faces. What an amazing feeling that was!

I work at a library. I know some libraries use them with the Toddlers with their workshops. That is also another idea.

Those are the kids that I work with...its actually a group home for kids with developmental disabilities, rather than an orphanage.
