how do you break up with a Dr?
I saw a RE two times --- I don't feel comfortable going there again (he doesn't feel my blood clotting issue is reason for our losses) and have switched to seeing Dr. B (who I love).... question do I need to call them and tell them I don't want to go back....
How do you handle breaking up with a dr? So far all he has done is a consult, and a sonogram and blood work. He wanted me to go back for a saline sono....
So I guess in all my ramble I want to ask do you tell them or just never call them again?

Since you don't have a significant history with your first RE, I personally don't think it's necessary to say anything... Typically if you leave your RE, the main thing is to get your records transferred over, but it doesn't seem like you have much there anyway. Dr.B does such extensive testing too.

Totally agree with penny cat, you can even ask them to mail you a copy of your records, so you just give your new RE those then...good luck with everything........

Easy!! You are paying them! Get your records and move on. Us ladies are so afraid of offending people that sometimes we don't do what's best for ourselves. I am switching clinics too. Who knows, maybe I will go back, but doctors always differ. I was at Columbia and found the personnel and nurses there to be confused often. I just don't want to deal with that, even if the doctors went to Yale. The staff certainly did not.

You don't need to do anything just request records if you need them.

Re: how do you break up with a Dr?
When I "broke up" with my first RE I just called and requested records be sent to Dr. B. It was easy for me, I had just failed my 2nd IVF and my own RE didnt even call me to discuss my options. it was an easy decision for me.
