how do u do a tax grievance?
how do u do this without hiring a lawyer? I think my taxes are crazyand my neighbors taxes are less and it is the same property size and i looked up their exemptions......weird!

You need to search the public record and find out what comparable houses are paying in taxes. So you look for houses of the same style and property size around your house. If you find that many of them are paying less taxes than you, you probably have a case. But if you are paying the same or less, then there is no point in trying to grieve.
It will take some research on your part - some towns have the public record online, but for some you have to go to town hall and search.
You can also use a tax grievance service, like Mark Lewis. They will do all the legwork for you.

That's what we did. I seriously do/did not have time to do it myself.
All it took was one simple form & we saved $1,000 on our taxes.

Our real estate agent is going to help us for free. POssibly you can contact a realty place that would help you. I wouldn't pay that Mark Lewis place.
