How do I stop people from sharing photos on FB?
I don't mind friends and family looking at them but how do I stop them from sharing.

How do I stop people from sharing photos on FB?
Mil does this all the time and it drives me crazy. I looked into it and it seems there's no way to prevent sharing (which is dumb and I wish FB would fix that) But from what I understand, if you have the photo set so only friends can see it (not public) then when someone shares it, I think that only your mutual friends can see it, not all of fheir friends. But I'm not positive about that.

This is a peeve of mine too.
A family member actually changed her FB profile pic to DS for awhile and I was super pissed off.
If I had said something though, a war would've broken out.
Thankfully she finally changed it back to her big mug.

I would just restrict her from seeing anything on your page. That eliminates the sharing. Just add her to the "restricted" list.

Thought about that but she is still a party of the family. And I would like her to be able to see pics of her grandson. But apparently she reconnected with an ex girlfriend of hubby's and is sharing pics with her. How weird is that?

I wouldn't consider someone who I've never met, and that my husband hasn't seen in 25 years as part of my family to be honest. Unfortunately you will just have to accept that she will share them then. and YES that is super weird!

I have the following permissions setup on my albums. Go to the album - then click on custom privacy setting. Then select who you are permitting to share this with. I am not positive but it should not allow tem to share it to others that aren't on that list (however, could be wrong)
If it's a mobile folder or just a random posted image then same thing for a single image.

This is why I stopped sharing a lot of photos on Facebook. As ironic as this sounds, it's getting to be too invasive & they keep taking away a little bit of your privacy day by day.

This is why I won't be posting any pics of my son on Facebook at all when he is born. I cannot stand when people share something from my page. My SIL's do it constantly. I know my privacy settings are good, but I don't know what theirs are, and I don't know who can see their page, or if it's public or not.
I hate the privacy settings on FB altogether. They stink.

My MIL used to do this all the time and I politely asked her to stop and I limited what I posted. If she shares it on her wall, all of her friends can see it, not just mutual friends. If it really bothers you as much as it did me, then just send her a message asking her to not share. If she doesnt agree to that, then restrict her from seeing your pics.

This. But there is absolutely NOTHING you can do to stop them from right clicking, saving the photo, and uploading it themselves with whatever privacy settings they have.

Don't even get me started about her.
The ONLY reason I let it pass is because she will probably never have grandchildren of her own because of the way she raised her child and his ways.

Yes I'm pretty sure this is how it works. If you have it set to only friends can see your photos, then only your mutual friends will actually be able to see it.

Tell them to stop. Tell them you limit the viewers to people you know personally and them sharing allows all their friends to see it and more depending on their privacy settings. A lot of people don't understand this.

I tried telling my dad this, too and he doesn't get it....not sure if it's a generational thing or he's just proud. I have my privacy settings set pretty strictly, and it really bothers me that I cant control who sees them 100%
I don't want to stop posting on FB. I have family overseas and friends far away who share with me and vice versa. I need those connections.

Even if fb set it so you couldn't cut and paste or save a pic someone can always take a screen shot and crop it to look nice. If it's on the internet it's considered public and someone can def take it one way or another.

Yes I'm pretty sure this is how it works. If you have it set to only friends can see your photos, then only your mutual friends will actually be able to see it.
Unfortunately, no 
I keep my posts set to friends only and have a few family members that like to over share my photos. I'm always getting comments and likes from people that are not on my friends list. I also double checked to make sure the settings for the posts were set to friends on,y and they were.
