This happened to me the other day. Did you try refreshing your screen? That did it for me.

That's happened to me before. Then I realized there was an FM from a few days earlier that I haven't read
But, I sometimes don't even get the drop down box. I rely on my emails telling me I have an FM.

The box wasn't dropping for me at all yesterday. I noticed I had FM because of the little envelope in the upper right corner.
