How did you tell you family that you are Pregnant?

Did you do something special? or did you just flat out tell them?

DH and I were supposed to bring dessert to my parents' house on Easter. I went to the bakery and asked the woman to write "We're Having a Baby!" on a chocolate covered cheesecake. My family was over the moon!! For DH's family, we just told them since it is hard to get them all together at one time!

My mother-in-law organized a barbeque 2 weeks ago and invited my parents and my sister and her fiance. She unknowingly organized our "outing"!

I got picture frames for my parents and in-laws with quotes about grandchildren on them (and got a similar one for my sister for an aunt/uncle) and inserted a "coming...2009" slip in it. I found an "Uncle Manual" book on amazon for my 2 BIL.

We told them we had fourth of July gifts for them and put them in red and blue bags with white tissue paper. We had them open them at the same time...and the best part was that no one noticed DH filming the whole thing!! It was awesome and my mother's voice on the video, screaming, made my whole life

I just accidentially told my SIL today but we will tell the rest of our family when we have them over for a BBQ in two weeks

I had told my mom on mother's day that I ordered her something online and it wasn't in yet because we werent ready to tell just yet.

We got her a bunch of baby grandma stuff and she opened it up at a bbq we had for my dads birthday a few weeks later.

So much fun!

I was just so excited...that I just told them, I was pregnant. Then, showed them my pg test that said, Pregnant!

It was the week before Christmas when we got our BFP so for Christmas we took a picture of Alex (my 1 year old) wearing a Best Big Brother shirt and had magazine covers printed up on walmart.com and put them in frames and wrapped them as gifts for our families :)

we told my in laws at their 35th anniversary party. - it was towards the end when we made them open our present. we enlarged the sonogram and made a frame with all cute grandparent and baby theme scrapbooking stickers!
it came out great! they were so shocked! my mil thought we were giving them our enlarged wedding pic!


and for my mother, brother and sister in law, we went to my mother's house for a bbq and i told them we had our wedding video ready. my dh made a quick dvd with a wedding pic montage and the last pic was a scanned picture of our sonogram and a graphic that said " we're having a baby" along with our due date.

they were all so excited!

We told my parents on my mom's birthday. We got her a book that had to do with being a grandma and inside her card, we put a copy of the first sonogram picture. She started crying.

For MIL, we gave her a card that also had the sonogram picture in it and she bascially couldn't talk for a good 10 minutes she was crying so much!

For my brother, I called him and told him we came up with a new name for him... "Uncle Matt" and he said "Why?" and I told him to think about it... he was excited.

This time, we just squeezed it intho a conversation...
My mom said something like "you are lucky that you have a good kid" and then we responded with "yup! and another on the way!"

There was a pic of a black baby in the frame (the pic that comes with the frame) and my MIL thought we adopted

My First PG we put a sono picture at the end of our wedding album (which happened to get finished right as we were ready to come out). This time we had our DC carry the sono pic of the new little bean to them after dinner.

Dh was with me at the house when I took the test. My mom was my first phone call. My dad my second call since he wasnt at my parents house when I called my mom.

My parents: we put a Tshirt on the dog that says "I'm the big sister" -- my mother's reaction "You're getting another dog???"

I flat out told my mom at 10 weeks. She got the message out to everyone else in a matter of 2 hours. LOL

The last time we just told them. This time I had a t-shirt made that said I am going to be a big sister and emailed it to my family. I had my DD wear it Atlanta when we visited my sister.

DH and I both said to our parents "so it looks like you're going to be grandparents" (yes very creative).

For my brother, I took a pic of the HPT and text him, he didn't know what it was and showed it to his gf, and she went "OMG"
