How did you tell DH that you were PG?

I know it's been posted before... but couldn't find all the great ideas....

Please share your story of how you told DH...

I had something in mind but it'll take a day or 2 to get it... not sure I can hold in this HUGE news!!!

Had he not walked in, I would have planned something big. We thought we could not have kids, since we have been sleeping together with no protection for over 7 years. It was a total shock & I wanted to make it a really big event. But nooooooo he had to come home early & barge into the bathroom

It was cool to have him there when we checked the readout though. The look on his face was priceless. We then proceeded to take 5 more tests b/c neither one of us could believe it.

Took a HPT, saw a line and a faint line, ran out of bathroom, put it up to my DH's face and screamed,
"Do you see it, do u see it?" Its a line right??

We both were in shock and I had to buy a digitial to confirm it to HIM.

Then we kissed, again to congratulate each other.

I took the test at 7am on a Sunday, I woke DH up to me saying "is this a line, IS THIS A LINE"

He said yes, and went back to sleep

We celebrated when he woke up

MY DH was on a fishing trip when I took the test. By the time he came home I took three more tests and wrote a poem about how someone other than me missed him while he was away and that he would meet that person in May.

Both times DH was with me while POAS. He is my confirmation of lines :)

I ran out of the bathroom and work him up saying,,,, READ THIS! (I took digital) and he was like ummmm ok that was fast, and went back to sleep, then when he woke up he was like did i dream you were preggo or is it true? HAHAHAHA 16 weeks later yeah it is still true!

I took a test and thought my eyes were playing tricks. I almost threw it out cuz it was a very, very faint line.
I came out of the bathroom (dh was on computer) and gave it to him. "Hon, I think Im losing it, I said"..He said,,"If you are, then I am too"..He saw the line as well. Took me straight to CVS to get a digital and tested again the next AM and sure enough, 'Pregnant' came across the "screen". I was crying so much I was almost late for work.

I called him up and told him to get home now because I thought I was seeing things wrong on the stick.

MY original idea - had I not found out at 11pm - would have been to fill the house up with blue and pink balloons. Maybe next time!

I found out I was pregnant a week before Christmas so I went and got a "Parents-to-be" Christmas ornament and wrapped it up. When my husband came home from work I told him I got him an early Christmas gift and it was for the tree so he had to open it now-I think he thought it was some cheesy "husband-wife" ornament or something so he was a little shocked when he saw the baby rattle with the Parents-to-be sign on it

We tested togather so we experienced it togather and when the result came up we both just hugged each other we so happy.

I actually didn't suspect I was preggo but after some comments from other people I tested at work without telling anyone and there was a real dark line! So on my way home i got another test, and an I love my Daddy bib. I took the test again and wrapped it up in a box filled with pink and blue ribbon.

When I gave it to him he thought I had bought him tickets for a cowboys game because we were talking about it. He kept saying I know what this is---and I was thinking "you have noooo idea!!"

He literally opened the box and stared at the test for a good minute before moving! We were totally not expecting it because I had been taking some fertility meds and had decided we needed a little break--my best friend had passed away and I needed a break from constant dr. appts etc. I still have the box--because then we bought it to both our parents and pretended it was a gift for them!

After going through IVF and the dreaded 2WW we both had quite an ordeal before getting the news.

I really didn't feel pregnant so I did not POAS... I KNOW, how could I NOT???

Went in for my bloodtest, they called later that day to tell me they "dropped my vial of blood in the lab" and I needed to come back
So I drove back, had to wait an extra day, then had to wait until 4:30 the next day for the doctor to call me.

I called DH at work, told him I was ok but really needed him to come home. When he walked in the door I told him and said, based upon my levels, it was most likely TWINS

After my 2nd test said positivie, I called him to let him know that I'm taking a whole bunch of HPT's, and i think I'm PG because they are all coming up positive!

He was like - cool!

I couldn't sleep so I got up really really early and took a cheapy test since I wasn't actually late yet. Well there was a faint line, so I took an equate, and there was a faint line, so I took a digital and it said PREGNANT. So I ran into the bedroom jumped on the bed, woke up my DH and said read this (mind you he wears glasses and couldn't see a thing), he pretended to "see" it, mumbled something and then rolled over. So I yelled it says pregnant...he woke right up!!! It was cute!

I woke him up at 4 a.m. with a cup of pee and said

"hey - you want to do a science experiment?"

I was extremely excited to tell him and then I froze...what if he flipped out? [we were NOT TTC at the time, we had actually discussed being NON-TTC for about a year...we had previously been not not trying.]

So I did what any woman in my situation would do...I took ANOTHER test right after I got home for lunch [we were meeting at home to "discuss something important"] and when I walked out to see him watching a daytime baseball game eating his lunch he looks at me and says: well, what'd you want to talk about?

i just shoved the stick in his face [digital test] and he read it...i watched about 30 emotions go through his face in seconds. i couldn't have done it any better.
