How did you know....
you were ready to TTC?
I don't think DH and I are there yet BUT I feel like its something we both are starting to want.....
so how did you know you were ready?

yeah, its crazy - i am even starting to consider our parents ages - like trying to figure out how old our parents are going to be when our future kids are 5, 10, 15, 20  not that i would plan having children around our parents but it would be nice if they weren't ancient while our kids are growing up hahahaha
we are getting pretty close to getting a house and moving out of state - i'd like to think that after being settled in for a year or so we can start trying - but more and more i find myself looking foward to being at that point - i dont want to rush the time away but part of me wishes we were there already....

We got married at 31 and 32 and both wanted kids right away so we stopped being careful and figured we'd see what happened.I think it was easier to make the jump that way. No pressure and it wasnt scarey, til we got our BFP that is

I always knew I wanted to be a mommy . I knew DH wanted kids, but it wasn't until he started to really talk about it that I felt it was time. One night he came home from work bearing a gift, a bib with the saying little jets fan. I was  and so touched.

personally i've been ready for a long time and we had a lot of talks about it over the course of our engagement. We had decided to start trying about 3-6 months after the wedding and started ttc 2 weeks later...it was just the right time and i guess we just knew it.

i feel like that is us we've been talking about things very frequently lately....for example, yesterday DH drove me to the doc (gyno) and while we were in the waiting room he was reading a magazine about pregnancy - the magazine had all pictures of babies in the womb during each month of pregnancy - i thought it was kind of strange to see him so interested but i figured maybe he was just curious to see all of the pictures....then i got called in and left him - when we left the office and got in the car DH started going on and on about all the things he "read" (keyword here "read") and he even read about breastfeeding and was telling me how interesting the article was.....then here and there throughout the day little jokes and references about future children and pregnancy were made - yesterday we talked about it so much that DH said "ok i need to calm down with the baby talk" and we just laughed hysterically over it....
its weird - it reminds me of how we always talked about getting married and the wedding...

My goal in life is to be a mom, so I have been ready in my head for a while. Sometimes when I look at my lifestyle it's hard to realize how different it's going to be come (ie parties, and giong out, and vacations) and then I worried that maybe I'm not ready, but then I think about how who is ever really "ready" for such a huge change? I don't know if anyone can truly be prepared and if it's what you want then you should take the leap. My DH is a little behind me on this..lol

we are still newlyweds and haven't gotten a house yet and i know i want to be able to move, paint, and work on the house for awhile before i'm actually pregnant - we did talk about "when" and we think next summer would be a good a time to start trying (by then we should be comfortable in a house and ok financially *i hope*) - so for us it would most likely be a 2011 baby - but its def on the brain - A LOT......

The first time around - my husband was already in his mid-thirties and all of his friends already had kids so he was ready. i have been ready for years. I was just waiting to be married for a few months!
This time - I want my kids to be about 2 years apart so now's the time!

I know! I'm on the TTC and Pregnancy boards more than the others and I'm neither one YET. I do post sometimes, when it's relevant to my sitation so that I do not intrude on anyone's boards lol Luckily we are NW, but have a house and fixed it up already....so we can technically have a baby any time...I think this makes me that much itchier! lol

With our first, we knew we didn't want to wait too long after we got married and we were thinking of trying once we bought a house and settled in.
Well, we started TTC a bit earlier-6 months after the wedding but well before we bought a house. We ended up buying a house and settling in in my 8th month.
For our second, we knew we wanted to wait until DD was around a year and we didn't want them too far apart. We also didn't want to get out of baby mode because we thought it might be too hard to get back into it.

The two of us always wanted to be parents and have a large family. Do to our ages, if we do want a large family we had to start right away.
I think it is just something we both knew on a gut level that we want and are ready for.

Yup. Now that we have started officially and have been doing this a few months I've found that any fear we had has gone away and the longing for a child just deepens. Every time I see a baby I swear they are looking at me and wanting me to hold them

Seriously, with DS we didnt really k now we were ready but we felt we had all the ducks in a row to be ready (stable jobs, good savings, home etc) We had planned on starting to try the end of 2007 but God had other plans and I got my BFP in April 2007.
now thinking of #2 I just KNOW I am NOT ready and neither is DH!

I honestly get this yearning when I see other people with their kids.
I'll miss vacations, free time, TV vegging, sleeping late...but that yearning comes every time I see a kid....and it's definetely new.

My situation is similar to yours, I will most likely have a 2011 baby too! (if all goes as planned!)
