How did you feel 5 weeks post delivery? (warning TMI)
I gave birth 5 weeks ago and I still don't feel healed down there. I have my 6 week appointment next week but I thought I would ask on here when I can expect for things to go back to normal down there, or if they ever do? I had an episiotomy and tore pretty bad so recovery has been really rough but I finally snuck a peak after being told by my OB not to and wow things looks so different I'm wondering if it goes back to normal ever or if this is the new me. I’m also still having some mild pain/stinging when I pee and there is still discharge. Does this go away too? Thanks!!!

I had my 6 week appt at 8 weeks and I remember feeling much better by then (I had some tearing and stitches). It took me forever to get rid of my squirt bottle though .
But it does get better with time. Hang in there

Congrats on your baby!!
I don't remember when it healed, but I know that it wasn't fully healed at my 6 wk check-up. The mild stinging and pain will eventually go away, but I remember it lasting for quite a while

Re: How did you feel 5 weeks post delivery? (warning TMI)
congrats on the baby!
At 5 weeks I still felt like a mess down there. I think I felt fully healed and almost normal around ....well ... 6m... and still felt pain from tampon or intercourse till around 12m.
I tore really bad, and had episiotomy. My doctor had to burn off scaring at my 6w appointment and it was sheer hell.
My doctor kept reminding me how small I am and how big DS was, and said "what did you expect"...

At 5 weeks I started to feel discomfort again and it turned out to be scar tissue that my doctor had to "fix"...maybe that's whats going on...

At 5 weeks, there was def. still pain there. I think I pushed myself too much (long walks, etc.) at times and should've taken it easy. I felt very "torn apart" when I was at your stage and when I looked, I was horrified. Nothing looked OK IMO but the doctor said it was all good. At 4 months PP, it's still different, but not painful.

After my 1st, I didn't feel close to "normal" until about 8 weeks. I also had an episiotomy and tore in 2 places. Try sitz baths. I didn't do them the 1st time but I did after I had DS. It made the recovery a lot better. Give it time, you'll be feeling better soon.

I felt like I couldn't walk correctly for a long time, I also pushed for 3 hours straight. I think what you are feeling is normal

Re: How did you feel 5 weeks post delivery? (warning TMI)
At 5 weeks I definitely wasn't feeling better. I *thought* I would be ready for after I got the OK from the doctor, but just her finger during the exam was painful enough that I told DH no way . At about 5 months PP I had to go for my annual and that had just the normal comfortableness, so I figured I was better then. I didn't have an episiotomy, but I tore some and needed stitches.

Horrible!! I tore really bad and had problems walking and sitting for a good 3 weeks. My doctor did not clear me at my 6wk app't that is how bad it was. By 8 weeks I felt fine.

Re: How did you feel 5 weeks post delivery? (warning TMI)
I will be 5 weeks pp on Sunday and I started to feel better by week 3. Around that time I stopped bleeding (Although there is still a small amount of discharge each day) and was able to chuck the water bottle. I no longer feel pain down there and I tore 3rd degree. Lots of stitches.
I refuse to take a look down under but my DH did and said from what he could see, it looked fine. Im not so sure about that. Even though I feel fine now, Im terrified to DTD. I have my 6 week appointment on Monday so Im anxious to hear what the doc has to say.
Hope you start to feel better.
