For mine, DH & I went to Lake George for few days that summer!

ours aren't for 3 more years... but we have a big group of friends ( dhs friends from HS) that are all turning 30 in the same year, so we're talking about havnig a big party for all of us to celebrate. maybe one of those nice dinner cruises on the NY Harbour, or a weekend in AC with all of us... not sure yet.

but i can help with ideas i got from other people... there's this bowling alley (but it's like, "high end") in New Hyde Park called STRIKE and it's really cool and they have rooms for parties-- good food and a dance club.
my cousin's husband threw her a surprise party at the horse and jockey in smithtown for her 30th.
you could always rent out a bar or something like that.
my friend had a big party at sweetwater's in hauppauge and everyone had chocolate fondue and unlimited beer, wine, soda--- she said it was very reasonable for what they got!

DH threw me a party with the help of my mom. I was COMPLETLY suprised, I dont know how they did it, but they did and it was great.

For mine, DH surprised me with a trip to Vegas for the weekend, and friends flew out to surprise me while we were there. It was awesome!
For his, we took a trip through Sonoma County wine tasting and then down to San Francisco. Another great trip.

Mine was a month after the wedding-- so, we just invited close friends to a restaurant and did a special dinner.
For DH-- I threw him a catered party at our place.

I don't care what he does, I just really want to be surprised...I am NEVER surprised.

for me- I am having dinner with my friends in the city- Mexican
and not sure what Jake is planning- but he is running out of time!

My 30th bday was 3 years ago. I gathered a bunch of friends that were also turning 30 and we went to a spa in Roslyn. It was soooo nice. We had all day pampering, had a suite all to ourselves, ordered in dinner from a local Italian restaurant and lounged around in our robes and ate and drank. It was so much fun!

Giving birth to my babies. They were born the week before my big 30...best gift i ever got. My husband did take me out to a nice dinner when i was up for it.
For him i had a party with family and friends.

I haven't celebrated yet (5 more years ) but my SIL is turning 30 in May and her birthday falls on Cinco De Mayo so my brother is throwing her a party with a fiesta theme! There are soooo many cool things to decorate with!
