How did you break-up with your pre-school/daycare?
The back story: We moved to Tx in January 09 when my oldest was 2.5yrs old and I had trouble finding DD#1 a preschool with open spots. After combing the area finally found one that was a good 20 min drive away. I was very happy with them so I kept her in it until she graduated (this last spring). DD#2 is now 2.5yrs old and I enrolled her in the same school back in February but after thinking about it I feel it's not worth the trek for a preschool. I work nights and use the preschool as a daycare so I can sleep so a 20min drive on no sleep is not a good thing. DH occasionally helps me out when I'm too exhausted since he works from home but the mornings are his busiest so being away from his office for 40+minutes is not ideal. I have discovered a pre-school recommended by another mom just 1.5miles down the road from me plus it's $50/month cheaper then the far away school not to mention the money I can save on gas. I've toured it and I was very pleased but don't know how to let the other school down. They've taken excellent care of my oldest DD and she's thrived in that school so I don't want to "burn my bridges" if for some reason it doesn't work out with the other school.

I usually have difficulty "breaking up" if there is a potential for a confrontation or it is because I am not happy with their services but in your case I would just be honest. I cant imagine there would be any hard feelings.

since its on good terms and they didnt do anything wrong to you kid.... 2 weeks notice and tell them its closer and cheaper.
I didnt give notice because of the safety issues and I knew id never bring him back. on the last day I gave the director and owner a note with the larger offenses. new daycare cost more money but have seen such improvements in my kid and actually asks to go back its worth it.
