If I had to live without my mother, I'd be lost. I love her more than anything - she is my strength, she is truly my everything. BUT we weren't always as close as we are now.
This part of your post perfectly describes my current relationship with my Mom -
I grew up and spent most of my 20s at 'war' with my Mom a lot of the time - we never saw eye to eye on anything, she was very hard on me, and vice versa I suppose. We are FAR more alike than I ever cared to admit and that meant for constant battles!
But now that I'm a bit older, settled down, etc. , my Mom and I have an amazing relationship - she (and my Dad actually) are everything to me! Next to my husband, they are my "rocks"

I woud like to add that my mom is the source of unconditional love for me. I hope that Marissa and I have this type of relationship when she is older.

My mom and I are very close. She constantly amazes me by how much she does for our family, she is a boundless source of energy and I admire her so much and wish I was a little more like her. But we are both very outspoken so we bicker and get on each other's nerves at times too.

my mom and i have always been close, but there are times when we can't stand each other!  i have to say, we get along sooo much better when we don't live in the same house. i was away at school, lived on my own and now live w/ my dad and we talk every day and are fine. however, dh and i are moving into her house next month (we're having a baby and there is no room for all of us at my dads) so that might put a little strain on things.

My mom drives me insane sometimes, but that being said, she and I are extremely close. I think it's because we're so close that she drives me so insane. She has her flaws and I have mine and I think we both take everything so personally when it comes to each other that sometimes it gets in the way. But I would say 95% of the time, we have an amazing relationship.
Totally agree. I'm my mom's only, so I also feel very protective of her. She's a good mom. She's not perfect but I love her and I'm proud of her. She is also fighting Lyme's Disease which is wreaking havoc on her body and I hate that. But I have to say that my mom and my mother in law are good women and I'm lucky to have them in my life!

My mom is my best friend. Granted, we've had our times where we don't see eye to eye on things but we're very close and talk a few times every day. I don't know what I'd do without her.

When I was in HS- we didnt get along at all... but pre and post HS- were bestest friends...
I dont know what Id do, if I didnt have her!

My mom raised me alone, my dad and her divorced around my 1st birthday abd she never re-married. We are more like sisters sometimes then Mom and daughter which is not always the greatest way to have it, but I wouldnt want any other Mother and I cant imagine how I would cope day to day without her. We are more then close....

Not to Damper this thread but my Mother passed when I was 7
She was only 28 and died of Breast Cancer
But I like to think that we would of been the Best of Friends!
It what I have always longed for!
