How can I make Tummy Time fun? DS hates it...
My 10 week old DS hates tummy time (cries and gets really upset) and the Ped said at his check up on Monday that she doesn't like that he's getting a flat spot on his head She said we have to do 20 minutes of TT per day.
How can I make it bearable and maybe even fun? TIA!

ds hates it too. i try to do a few minutes of tt at a time - it cant be anywhere near his nap time or he will really bug out LOL. ds started getting a flat head too and the ped suggested lots of tt and sleeping him on alternating sides.
His head has gotten alot better the past 2 weeks btwn tt, sleeping on his side and using a noggin nest.
A poster here suggested the Noggin Nest for flat head. Its great- look into it

lay him face down on your chest and talk to him. he doesn't have to be on the floor on his tummy, he can lay on you. I always did this with my DC, they rarely did tummy time on the floor. They loved being close like that and would lift up their heads to look at me when I talked to them.

Same here... DD HATED being on the floor, but loved being close to us.

This is what I do. I lie flat and put her on my chest...I sing to her and babble back and forth. She's very happy and it hold her attention long enough that we get good long stretches of TT before she's had enough. She's much happier doing it that way then on the floor where there's not much to look at.
You can buy one of those mirrors they make...or just use one and put it in from of DC while they are on the floor so they can look at themself.
