How can I get a "dewy" look?
Without looking oily or shiny? Someone insulted me recently and told me my skin looks dead! I have been using RX meds and haven't gotten a facial lately, but dead?? I was surprised. It was meant to be an insult, I won't get into it, but now I'm a little self-conscious! How can I "liven" up my skin?

Re: How can I get a "dewy" look?
I recently bought St.Ive's exfoliator and my skin looked so much better that my makeup looked so much better.
You might just need to get the dead skin off the top. I knew what the person meant but I would NEVER EVER say that to anyone, not even family.
I also have moon beam by Benefit that I will put on after my foundation sometimes ( I usually do it more in the summer for some reason) on my cheek bones and it adds just a little something.

Re: How can I get a "dewy" look?
3 words : CLARISONIC SKINCARE BRUSH! it makes my skin look great. It's a little but worth every penny.
Also you can try Neutrogena healthy skin lotion SPF 15. Normally I use Olay regenerist lotion spf 15 and I'm very happy with it , been using it for 3 years now. But my skin got really dry and dull this winter , so my dermatologist told me to start using it, just for winter (bc it has SPF but only protects from UV ) and 1x a week in summer, it has Alpha -Hydroxy, vitamins/antioxidants, so it removes all the dead skin cells and makes your skin look great. You can even use it just at night or if your skin is sensitive just use it 1-2x week.
can't post pic for some reason :

Re: How can I get a "dewy" look?
First of all - WHO says such a thing ?? What a miserable jackass -
Second - When I take certain meds, my skin gets ....different too (I don't know if I'd say 'dead' - but maybe that's how I look ........) anyway, try a gentle exfoliator and if you normally use powder or mineral makeup, try something w/ a bit more moisture - a liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer.
Also, a creme blush helps me too

I heart you girls! yes, the person was trying to hurt my feelings, and yes, she is miserable!
I have the clairsonic brush, but I forgot about it for a while . I just put it back on the charger last night!
Thanks for all of your suggestions!

EWWWWWWWW. Who says that is right??!?!? Oooofa.
I find my skin gets really dullish in the winter, exfoilating and upping my moisturizer helps, oh and Cream blush, not powder makes a difference too.

Re: How can I get a "dewy" look?
That is a terrible thing for someone to say! When I feel like my skin is looking dull, I use an Aveda tourmaline charged exfoliating clay mask.

Re: How can I get a "dewy" look?
High beam OR moon beam by BeneFit - I mix it with Rose tint (also by BeneFit) on my cheeks and it gives the BEST dewy look!!!! High Beam looks best with Rose tint....
Sorry that person was a jerk - but seriously - you will love how the combo works!!!!

I just threw mine away. IMO, there was way too much shimmer.
