How big were you and DH when you were born?
Do you think your or DH's birth weight has any impact on how big or small DC will be? I hope not, DH was 9lbs.15oz (and his 5ft 100lb mother had him vaginally with no epidural, no pain meds ) and I was close to 9 pounds!

DH was on the small side, I think low 6 pounder. I, on the other hand, was ginormous at almost 10 pounds. Hopefully our little one will come somewhere between our weights? 8 pounds sounds ok to me.

OMG this is the same for me and DH! DH's mother is tiny, like under 5ft. He was well over 9lbs when he was born and she had him vaginally too. I was 8lbs 6oz. And we both have big heads. I'm doomed

I hope not!!! I was over 10 lbs, but I was about 1 month late.My mother also had me completely naturally. I think if I were born on time, I would of been close to 9 lbs. DH was tiny, about 6 lbs. I believe he was early.

fatthead was almost 10lbs when he was born. his mom and pop arent tiny
i was just under 6lbs when i was born. both my parents are tiny tots

My dh was born at 29 weeks at a little over 3 lbs (he was a preemie). And i was born at 6lbs 1oz. My dd weighed 8lbs 7 ozs. No correlation what so ever

When I was pregnant last time-- I read somewhere that you can average the birth weight of you and DH to determine where your baby will fall.
I have been researching a little this pregnancy because DS is measuring small (although I think he's on par with where DD was). And I recently read that birth weight is mainly based on the mother's genes, but growth after birth is obviously affected by both parent's genes.
Having said that, I was 5lbs, 11oz and 10 days late. DH was a little over 7lbs. DD was 6lbs, 15oz at 40 weeks 5 days.
This baby is measuring a little over 5lbs at 38 weeks.

my dh was 7lbs and i was 8 7.. somewhere in the middle woldnt be bad.. I know big babies run in my family- i am already somewhat showing and i put money that this is going to be a big baby

I don't think so...I was 7 1/2 lbs (my twin brother was 8 1/2 lbs!) & I think dh was around 8 lbs, but our ds was only 6lbs 10 oz...

i was 2w early and petite, 6lbs 4oz. my DH was about 9lbs and almost 2 weeks late...
we had a 3lb 8oz preemie so i guess this is irrelevant for me

OMG! Were you and your twin full term? My DH has a twin sister too, but I think they were in the 5-6lb range.

DH was 6 weeks EARLY and weighed over 6 lbs.

I asked my Dr about this. She said there is no correlation between dhs birthweight and our babies but if I was a big baby I am more likely to have a big baby. Its not a definite but since I was 9 1/2 lbs I am more likely to have a big baby than someone who was 5lbsa at birth. Lucky me!

I was almost 9 lbs. DH was under 7 lbs (I think about 6 1/2 lbs).
My DS was a 3lb 6oz preemie, but they said if he had gone full term he would have been 7-8 lbs - which would be in between both mine and DH's birth weights.
This baby is almost 2 lbs at 25 weeks and right on track for the "norm". No idea how big she'll end up at birth. Totally depends if you go full term or not.

Well this works for DH and I. I was 7lbs 8oz and DH was 8lbs 10z. DS was 7lbs 11oz. So right in the middle of both our weights. I have a growth sono in two weeks for this baby, so we shall see.

I dont go by that. With Taylor he was 9 lbs 13oz and I was 6 and change and so was his father but, his father's side did have 10 lb babies. Im hoping this one is smaller.
