Re: How are we all doing???

Ok, I’ll start Chat Icon

I went for my post IVF consult with Dr Lydic, and he felt it was more embryo quality then anything I did wrong or anything wrong with me. He said that going forward it’s just a matter of tweaking meds and getting the best embryo quality I can. When he reviewed the fert report one embryo grew really rapidly from the start, too rapidly he said; and the other one grew too slowly and then picked up the pace. HE felt both were abnormal. I really want to stay there…just comes down to finances bc IVF is all oop. I’m also going to put in a call to see if they can petition the insurance to cover the IVF out of medical necessity…doubt it though.

I also went for a second opinion with Dr Brenner @ LIIVF. He went over all of my records and said he wouldn't have done anything differently, and there are no other tests he would order. He said basically it all comes down to my low amh (0.26). He said with that, quality and quantity go hand in hand. He agreed that it is just finding the right medication combinations. LIIVF has a Finance Share program with InVitro Sciences which offers a few IVF packages. One of them is 3 fresh 3 frozen (6 total cycles) for around $18000 with a 70% money back guarantee if not preg after the 6th cycle. 80% success rate. HOWEVER…Dr Brenner said you have to “qualify” and with the amh issue he is not sure if I will. BUT, the application asks for all the other levels except amh, so I filled it out just to see. Waiting to hear soon

So basically right now I’m at a stand still until I find out if I was accepted into the invitro thing, or if my insurance will cover anything. Then we are going to apply for medical loans through Springstone or another one I forgot the name of. Slowly coming out of this funk I’ve been in. I know it’s only my first failed IVF, but it has been really difficult for me.

Best Wishes to All!!!!!

Re: How are we all doing???

Currently on provera for last 3 days, waiting for my period to come and then headed to RE to get tested, and then hopefully begin Clomid! First cycle on Clomid, so both nervous and excited.

Re: How are we all doing???

I'm on CD 13, finished clomid on Wednesday. I went to the RE this morning and there were some small follicles in both ovaries. I have to go back on Friday to see if any of them are growing.

I'm determined to stay positive this cycle now that I know I can ovulate with the right meds, it just takes me a little longer because I have loooong cycles.

The RE is thinking I should do a IUI this cycle but I'm not sure yet since technically this will only be our 2nd cycle trying with meds.

Re: How are we all doing???

I'm glad to see that you are getting back into TTC! Chat Icon

Today is 2 months to the date that I went into labor with my twins. Chat Icon

I had my postpartum appointment with my gyno last Thursday and she said that I'm healed and can start TTC again whenever I want.

I contacted Dr. Kofinas since I have heard great things about him concerning IC. I went for all of the tests he wanted me to do and I have an appointment September 30th to find out the results and make a plan for my next pregnancy.

Going to call my RE this afternoon to make an appointment to discuss doing an FE cycle since I have some embies frozen with them.

I'm rooting for you ladies, and for now taking a break but will look out for some good news hopefully from you all. I just had a failed iui cycle but decided that I don't want to go back to the RE I was seeing, not sure what I'm going to do from here.

Went in for my cd 3 appt this morning, and will be starting 250mg of clomid tonight. Go back next Thursday for a follicle check, and we'll take it from there. I usually take a while to respond, so I may have to go back for one more ultrasound before the iui. We're shooting for the IUI at the end of the month

MrsGoldie - what did you think of Dr. Brenner? I have so much faith in him and the doctors at LIIVF. I hope you get accepted into the program!!! If you have any questions about Dr. Brenner or the office, let me know! Good luck!

APT910- just sending some prayers and hugs your way. I can't imagine how difficult of a day it must be for you.

Best of luck to everyone else! I hope there is a big wave of BFPs in the coming weeks/months!

I just had my 3dt today of 3 -8 cell embryos, all good quality. So just starting my 2ww!!

Re: How are we all doing???

I really liked him. He's a tell it like it is kinda guy...I like that. If I don't get accepted into that program though, I am going to stick with Dr Lydic and RSoNY. Especially after Dr Brenner said he didn't see anything he would do any differently. Unfortunately Dr Brenner never comes out to the suffolk county offices and Melville and Lake Success are kinda far for me :(

Sometimes breaks are a great thing. A good chance to regroup and recharge :)

Re: How are we all doing???

I am 6dp5dt of two early blastocysts with none to freeze. Beta is on Thursday, but I'm not even having a hint of a symptom so I don't know what to think.

I am also petitioning for coverage next cycle since we are OOP. I checked my husband's coverage he doesn't hace IVF coverage either.

Onward and Upward.

Waiting to schedule my first IUI!

I had blood/ sono today. Home testing showed I am on day 3 of "high fertility"- looks like the Clomid extended on fertility phase since I usually only have 2 days. Now to wait for the peak to schedule the IUI!!

Re: How are we all doing???

CD4 here

Starting 5mg of Femara tonight for 5 nights. Go back Monday for Blood & Sono.
And then I go that Tuesday for IVF consult. We may not be able to do IUI this month because I am going away around when I normally O. So we are doing Femara in the hopes of IUI but if not, it'll just give us a bit of a boost with TI Chat Icon

Let the hot flashes begin!

HEY. I have totally been wondering about you and how you were doing. Seems like you got your bases covered with getting a second opinion and figuring out finances. I think that plan for 18,000 seems good. Did you like the office and the RE? Would you feel as comfortable using that RE as you did with your RE? What would be the new plan for IVF? Different protocol or adjusting meds? I hope everything works out. Just because it was your first IVF doesn't mean its not devastating....I would be. You put so much into it and get nothing. One day it will all be worth it!

As for me, not doing so great. Trying to remain hopeful that this IVF (5dp5dt) worked but also trying to be realistic. I was really upset on Friday when I found out none made it to freeze. That and the fact that on my 5dt my embryos were still early blasts makes me think that these 2 inside of me probably won't make it either. RE said they were either slow or not healthy even though they looked good on the day of transfer. I have NO symptoms. This IVF went nothing like I thought it would. If I have to do IVF again I'm hoping it goes a lot better. BETA on Friday...this is gonna be a long week!

Hope everyone is doing okay and hanging in there.

Glad too see you're hanging in there and that your post observation went well. HVe been thinking about you.
Trivax said them same thing it's more of an embryo issue then anything with me. Tweaking meds this time around etc. I have an Amh of 0.08 so I'm really low.
Started the madness of school again so I'm busy and don't even have time to think which is pod in a way . Waiting for period to start this round. Should be here any minute now. Started acupuncture w Andy and I love it.
Keep me posted on how things go. Xo
