How about something nice for the holidays?!
I just have to say that I LOVE the girls I ride with!!! My club has decided to "Adopt a Family" for Christmas!!! We got a wish list from the 3 girls (single mom) and we are each buying items off the list! And some of our companies are donating as well! It just makes me feel so good to know women like this!

that is so wonderful!! I would love to do something like this also.
ETA: I was watching American Choppers and the guys on OCC did this. It was so sweet.

Thats Awesome!
We did Adopt a Family at work, too!! (my dept does it every year). We were able to get them sooooo much stuff- from sneakres/ shoes and clothes to a bike and computer. We had a great amount of participation this year
That is sooo great that you guys did that!!

We are SO excited about it! The Mom even OK'd it that we come to deliver the gifts with Santa (AKA my DH!!! ) and his elves (the girls in the club!!)! I can't wait! We decided to bring them a tree with lights & decorations too because we had a few of our companies donate some $!!!
Thanks to those who have offered to help out from this board as well! (you know who you are!!)

That is so wonderful of you all! Every year we pick up 2 letters from the post office - been doing that for about 10 years now. It is just such a wonderful feeling

we're doing this too and it feels so rewarding. i had been searching for a charity like this and stumbled upon it in my church bulletin. you can pick how large the family you want to buy for is and if you dont have time, you give the charity $ and they'll do the shopping for you. i have info on how to do if it anyone wants it.

We did ours through the AHRC. One of our members has a daughter in their program & the director was able to tell her about a family who is in need that has a child in the program.
