house hunting UPDATE!!!!!!!
i need some good thoughts, prayers or hugs girls. This house hunting thing is really depressing sometimes. Long story short we put in an offer and it wasn't accepted and we loved this house....oh well and the search continues
UPDATE.....I'M SO FREAKIN EXCITED! WE WAITED OVER A MONTH AND PUT IN OUR FINAL OFFER AND THEY ACCEPTED IT!!!!!!!! THE HOUSE WE FELL IN LOVE WITH A MONTH AGO!!!!!!!
i will definitely be on asking u guys a ton of questions!!!!!!!!!
send me all the house dust, prayers etc that this goes to contract and closing
UPDATE 9/20/07: WE SIGNED THE CONTRACT WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO! THE CLOSING DATE IS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 5TH....MY GRANDMA THAT PASSED BDAY...WEIRD HUH???...MAYBE SHE'LL BRING US GOOD LUCK

well, DH and I like to joke that we can't afford a crack house in XXXXXX (town name withheld....)
 It will be fine... you'll find another home.... maybe even one that you like even better than this one

We are just starting the house hunting too and when I look at the MLS online I see houses I am interested in but we still dont have pre-approval for a mortgage or a realtor.
I shouldnt even look at houses before we get these other 2 steps settled but thats the only fun part

If you love it that much, why not keep negotiating? The house hunt can be frustrating. DH and I went through it all last summer. We ended up spending more than we originally planned to get the house we wanted.

awww, dont be sad chica....the process itself is very frustrating, i know. but you have to remember that everything happens for a reason and you'll get the house that was destined for you!

Aww Good luck to you! If you wanted to go a bit further east, my Parent's are selling in Massapequa Park- They are so desperate to sell they reduce their price weekly.
I hope you find what you're looking for!!

I know I felt the same way. DH and I were already making plans on how to set up the house and everything.

thats y i said to make a long story short...we did negotiate and the seller suppossedly did not want to budge from their 1st counter offer and we cant afford to keep negotiating

You'll find the perfect house--it just might take more time. 
We placed on offer on one house that was turned down. Over time, we realized it wasn't really the house for us, plus a deal on our co-op fell through. So it was good that it worked out this way in the long run, though at the time it was depressing.
Seriously, there are other great homes out there. You'll find yours.

I totally feel for you. I put in a bit (at the full asking price) and was rejected. The people just didn't like US. Go figure. And... it took them 10 days to tell us that they were rejecting out offer.

my parents said the same thing bc at first they had gone to contract for a house and itfell through at closing! they were devastated BUT they said looking back on it that house wouldnt have been good for them....i know we just have to be patient and positive its just hard

WOW! that is absolutely ridiculous!!!!! u feel for me? I FEEL FOR U TOO! I think thats completely out of line to make u wait the ten days when u know they knew from the beginning did they sell to someone else?

we went through this on our first offer
we were AT the asking price, i dont think they liked our agent who was very over bearing and called them directly.. i could hurt her for that one.. but we did find a house LIKE that house.. but needed more work down the block that we close on tomorrow
just keep looking they are out there. i spent 2 months on mls. we got our preapproval, went out two weekends in a row.. got our 2nd bid
