Hotels in Philly..have to make a decision
This will be DH's and I's first time in Philly to vacation and are debating between 3 hotels-the Ritz, Sofitel and Palomar...any thoughts? Also, any suggestions on neighborhoods, things to do? We want to stay safe (obviously) but have a good time...TIA!

We have stayed at the sofitel. It was very nice. Do the touristy thing, independance hall, betsy ross, etc- you can get a selfguided walking tour map

Our favorite hotel in Philly is the Hyatt at Penn's Landing. It's beautiful, and overlooks the water. You may want to look into it.

The Ritz is really nice, but on Broad Street (more business than historic). I think the Sofitel is a great choice.

Re: Hotels in Philly..have to make a decision
we stayed at (and LOVED) the Westin. Great bar, amazing bedding, supernice staff, AND it has easy access to a mall!
do all the touristy things - they're pretty centrally located.
If you like brazilian steakhouses, Philly had the best one we've ever had -- Fogo de Chao on Chestnut St.
