Hot Dogs/sausages allowed?
What's the deal with hot dogs and sausages? Are they allowed at all? I want to make sauce and don't know if i'm allowed to have sausage. And I've been dying for a hot dog for some reason, but I think those are no-no's... But why if they're cooked? Thanks for helping me with my stupid questions!

I think they are fine as long as they are cooked - I have been eating them.

I have been staying away from all foods that contain nitrates. That includes hot dogs and sausages. But, I am self-admittedly very strict with what I am eating. I know some girls will eat them sometimes. I am not one of them.

my dr said nitrates can cause migraines
and they're full of sodium which can make you bloat....

My dr okayed them as long as they are cooked. I then asked "People eat hot dogs uncooked?" She nodded yes and I laughed. I have always cooked my hot dogs.

That was my reaction too. My doc said make sure you cook them. I gave her the strangest look and was like why wouldn't I cook them before I eat it?

My first pregnancy I ate hot dogs all the time. This time I eat them at times. Never even occured to me that sausage would be a no-no.
But I am, as well as my drs, pretty relaxed about that. I eat what I want really....my first OB (with DS) told me dont drink alcohol, do drugs or smoke and I would be fine!

As weird as this sounds, DH likes uncooked hotdogs! It makes me gag just typing it.
