Honey Nut Cheerios

I think I know the answer to this, but here goes anyway. My nanny Chat Icon , had a baggie of honey nut cheerios on the counter, which I found after she left. I thought it was regular cheerios but it's not. I'm hoping she didn't give my 10 month old any. This is the same one who asked if my DD could have peanut butter. Luckily her last day was yesterday and I'm in the middle of trying to call her to see if she gave any to DD. Is the honey still to be avoided at this age, or do you think the chances are pretty slim of affecting her?

At my DS's 1 year appt the pediatrician told us no honey but he said in the raw - so part of me thinks that the cheerios might be okay. Call your doctor just to run it by them...assume that your daughter had them and see what they say.

Re: Honey Nut Cheerios

I remember asking my ped about this and he thought since it's processed it probably wouldn't pose a risk but said to stay away just to be safe.

Yep..same here...in general it should be OK. The product is baked etc...but I was told to hold off just to be safe.

Re: Honey Nut Cheerios

Thanks, I spoke to her and she said she didn't. Not sure if I 100% believe her, but I'll keep watching DD. No signs of anything out of the ordinary yet. Thanks again!

Re: Honey Nut Cheerios

As long as its processed, its fine (unless there is a nut allergy to be ary of).
