Homeowners Insurance...

How much are you currently paying on your home and who do you use?

I am in my house 5 years; my homeowners has increased more than $400 in that time. I want to see if this is the norm - if not I'm switching!

Re: Homeowners Insurance...

Ours more than doubled in six years - who are you with?

We are with Liberty Mutual and looking to switch - I definitely don't think it's the norm.

We started at $1070 and are now at just over $2200 - no claims.

Re: Homeowners Insurance...

Unfortunatly insurance is on the increase. Even though the economy stinks, the cost to repair/rebuild a home has gone up, it is such crappola!

Do you have a "bundle" (homeowners, auto, etc.)? That'll usually save you the most $$$

Re: Homeowners Insurance...

It really is the norm for it to go up. You get great rates to begin with and they they always go up.

Ours went up 40% in 3 years with All State.
We are now with Liberty. Second year and it went up of course, can't remember how much! But I will probably be shopping around again the end of this year.

Same...

We also switched our auto to state farm and then saved like $200/year... Our homeowners insurance is like $900/year now...

Geico quoted us 775, we went withthem and the policy went up another 100 bucks right after we closed on the house bc the cost to rebuild number they used originally was a lowball figure Chat Icon
