Holy Painful HSG
But, the good news is... I am free and clear. He said that any clogs that were there are pushed out by the dye! Nice.
Lets hope all that horribleness gets me PG this month!!
But, seriously it hurt like a mofo!!!

Oh don't say that, I have on one on Thursday (my 2nd yeah!). I only remember when they blow that balloon up that it is really really uncomfortable.
Woops forgot to say that I am very happy that all is free and clear. Great news!!!

Re: Holy Painful HSG
Sorry that it was painful, but good news that they're clear now. Just out of curiosity, how long would they typically stay clear for now? Is it like real plumbing where you have get it roto-rootered every few years?

Sorry you were in such pain, but glad to hear they are all clear.
To answer Mishmosh's question - if they are clear, they are clear. The only thing is that the dye that is used for the HSG makes things more "slippery" so it's easier for the sperm to reach the egg which raises your chances of getting PG shortly after an HSG. Once you have an HSG, you generally don't need another one unless you experience an ectopic or switch RE's and they want to double check.

Thanks! I didn't know that about the dye. I just know that once they are clear they are clear. He did say if there was some little build up of dead cells or material that the HSG would have cleard that out. So that is good too.
I am so glad that is over and that I have that good news. The worst part was the balloon. Then once that pain quieted it wasn't AS bad. The balloon was awful. But then again I had a terrible time with the IUD insertion when I had that. Maybe I have a small ute!? He did only inflate it 1/3 of the way because it was so painful. Maybe that is why mine hurt so bad (small uterus I mean)?

Re: Holy Painful HSG
My new RE says that it has a lot to do with the technician. He says his don't hurt as much.
I think there's a difference with radiologists vs gyns.
I had it done with a radiologist.
Did your doc do it or radiologist?

It was a radiologist. I have heard that it hurts more with different people. My cervix migrated as he was trying to insert the catheter and he had to start all over again. Oh well. It's over and I am fine now. The thing is he was soo soo nice and made me feel really comfortable. He talked me through the whole thing and showed me everything on the screen. That was really nice.
