Holmes on Homes
I wish they would disclose the names of these asshat contractors who screw these poor homeowners over so badly.
It's one thing to not do your homework and hire an unlicensed contractor... but some of these guys are insurance contractors and totally take advantage of horrible situations.

the host of this show drives me insane - doesn't he realize he's the only person wearing overalls and that no one understands the lofty terminology he uses just to sound cool?

 You're right, but he doesn't bother me at all, he is exactly like a good friend of mine and I just find it funny.

Did you know the one house he did in LA he ended up paying for out of his own pocket. Like hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I like him because he uses terms that make sense to me, and he doesn't try to talk down to the homeowner...  I guess no matter how a host speaks, it's going to annoy someone....

I am getting into that show now but it scares me a bit...not as much as Real Estate Intervention because Mike Aubrey is just hard to swallow.

My DH watches HGTV because I make him and out of all the shows over the years, Holmes is the only one he truly likes.
The "skills" and lack of safety and knowledge of the carpenters on the other shows make him NUTS!

It's truly frightening how badly those houses are screwed up. I like the show, but sometimes I wish he would slow down and explain things better so I would have the first clue what the problem was and why he's fixing it in that way - I am clearly not a handy type and am easily confused.

Some of the word that was done was horrible.
Like the 2 GFCI outlets burried in the wall behind the whirlpool tub that keep shutting down the circuit. How could anyone do that? Or the electric line inches from the gas line.
